Why is there a huge difference?If its not a hate crime in California then why is this one a hate crime?

Now wait a minute, boys. I haven't seen much indignation out of you over the Palin "hanging" several days ago in California. Of course, we are being told that nothing illegal was done and the dummy has not been, nor must it be, removed.

 

As a multiple graduate of UK, I must say I am disturbed by Todd's typical overreaction. UK has received its last alumnus dollar from me.

 

The truth of the matter is that, unless we have citizens with special "super rights", the reaction to Obama's hanging should be no different than the reaction to Palin's hanging. The last time I read the US Constitution, it clearly stated that all should be treated equally. Of course, that appears to be changing, doesn't it?

The Palin effigy was done on a person's private property. The Obama effigy was hung on a busy sidewalk on UK's campus, where thousands of students walk every day.

 

No one at a college campus should feel threatened just by walking to class.

The assumption seems to be that this was perpetrated by "Obama haters", for lack of a better term. Although I am an Obama supporter, I'm not so naive as to think that there couldn't be the faintest possibility that Obama supporters couldn't have done this in a misguided attempt to generate sympathy for their candidate/discredit the Republican ticket.

If there was one of Palin on a university campus, the reaction would be the exact same... Whoever did this deserves to be expelled, just as if someone did the same with a Palin effigy...

My girl friend is at UK and seen it. She told me that it was just a terrible sight to see.
