October 30, 200817 yr No surprise. Apparently the freshman class they brought in is the worst in 20 years on top of the fact they are obviously sliding down the SEC scale.
October 30, 200817 yr Is anyone beside me thinking that this "leak" could be just a ploy to get the Vols to circle the wagons behind their coach and get them playing with some inspiration and emotion??
October 31, 200817 yr No. Fulmers had a nice run, but it's time to part ways. Tennessee just isn't what they used to be. They haven't been for a while. Even last year when they made it to the SEC title they were the 5th best team in the league at best. They won't ever be better than that with him at the helm. My vote would be Peterson from Boise. He's a young coach that has proven to be a winner. He can win with less talent (the Oklahoma game), and has kept Boise consistent in his short tenure. I know they aren't in a major conference but he's done a nice job (30-3 in two plus seasons). He plays a style of ball that would fit in well in the SEC. He plays to win instead of playing not to lose and will take chances. Cuttcliff would be a nice fit, but i think they need to go in a new direction and more youthful direction. Players have to want to come to Tennessee again. I think Lane "lance" Kiffins name will be thrown around, but give me a proven winner. I don't know if Peterson will be a candidate, I just think when a bigger program gives him a shot they will really take off. BTW, I had the same thoughts about U. Meyer while he was at Bowling Green and Utah, and that has worked out pretty well for the Gators.
