Gotta pull for the Wolverines...it's great to see a school that's struggled in football finally having a breakthrough season. But my head says I have to pick Lafayette - but not by much.

Stability and confidence is what this team needs, thats something they haven't had here in quite sometime. I think Coach Miller is on the right track to building a successfull program here, hopefully he sticks around for awhile.

 

Cam certainly has the leg for it.

I was watching Cam warming up before the North Oldham game...he hit (if I remember correctly) 2 of 3 from 45 yards before moving out to try 50 yarders. He didn't hit any from 50 during warmups, but he has the leg...

 

Unusual for a WR to be the kicker...

 

WH has already had some "breakout" wins this year...winning games over bigger schools that they weren't supposed to beat...the win over 5A Grant was big, and they dominated cross-town rival (4A) Franklin County for their first win in that series in a long time...but a win over a 6A team would be yet another step in the building process.

I agree 100% steamroller, and a good football team will capitalize on your mistakes and weaknesses. I guess I should have went on to say that Lafayette doesn't have near the speed of Frankfort High, nor do they have an offense comparable to North Oldhams. I believe this to be a close low scoring game that will be decided in the trenches, in which case I think favors Western Hills. If you look at the stats, and I know you can't use stats to determine if one team is better than another, and as you and ColonelMike have stated they have only scored 40+ points twice this season against lesser opponents. My point being it wouldn't be a blowout by Lafayette I wasn't trying to downplay Hills Losses to FHS and NO they were simply outplayed in one aspect or another in both cases, that being said Hills is a very good solid team and very capable of beating Lafayette.

 

Lafayette is faster than Frankfort High in the area of overall team speed.

Problem is there wasn't 11 running trying to block it. They may have had a defense but I doubt they where full speed. He has a strong leg but in football to be a good kicker you have to have:

 

Good snap

Good Hold

Great Pertection.

Actually he's more of a kicker converted to WR.

I am a very big WH fan, and I will be the first to say that Cam is a very good kicker, but CoachBuckett is right there are a lot of difference in being able to kick one that far in practice and being able to do it in the game, as much as I would like to see it happen we have to be realistic here.

 

Oldonetechnique, it is not possible for Lafayette to be faster than FH, while they do have a good defense, their offense is somewhat lacking this season.

My bad I misread the first post! However that being said, Lafayette is a defensive team, I haven't had the pleasure of seeing them play this season, but I have seen FH,and just based on Lafayette's numbers this season I just didn't see how it could be possible for them to be faster than FH.

 

I still think WH has a chance in this one,as I said before Lafayette's offense is somewhat lacking compared to years past, I also said that I think it will be a close game that will be decided in the trenches, which I think favors WH offense better than Lafayette's.

Lafayette's best attribite on their defense is their speed. They're fast from d-line to safeties. The linebackers are not big but fast.

Have seen both teams play this season and think Lafayette's D is very good and WHHS O is the better of the two.Curry's LEGS are the x factor. Lafayette will try to take away Reid. Cam Lee could have a big game recieving and kicking tonight.I agree with oldone on the TEAM SPEED.Lafayette's D gets to the ball fast.That being said I pull for my Frankfort teams except when they play my Flyers!!!
