I'm confused. Didn't Cawood play Estill in the first round of the playoffs last season? Does it alternate each season?

 

I kept saying last year that the KHSAA confused everyone by playing within the district in the playoffs.

 

They went back this year to playing the opposite district. I hope it remains that way. It's a huge mistake to confuse your fans, which is what happened last year.

HDE, or anybody, do you know anything about Grayson County, VA, besides the fact that Hazard beat them?

They were 8-3 last year. They are 0-8 this season.

Now HDE, you need to read better. I used the word "maybe" when referring to the younger Bears getting to play. Therefore I did NOT jinx our team. "Maybe" is a loophole.

 

This same little 7 year old who we are taking trick or treating cried for 30 minutes last week because he WANTED to go stand in the cold rain instead of going to his mamaw and papaw's. He made his papaw turn on the ball game on the radio. I will counter act any jinxing of missing the game by making everyone where their lucky Bear shirt under their costumes. We will be home before kickoff.

 

Please tell me that you are covering the game this Friday. It's common knowledge that when Jarrod covers the away games we don't play as well. So if something goes terribly wrong it will be all your fault! :creepy:

Actually a lot of your posters have jumped ship. There used to be taleast 12 posters from HC. in a thread, now there's just two.

As a college coach I will tell you that it makes no sense to allow a team to score when they have even the possibility of going up by 10. You allow teams to score to get the ball back when you are down by 1 late in the game and they are inside their own 10, or if you are needing two scores to get back into a game. It is highly doubtful that a team that is in a two, three, or four point game allows a score in order to get the ball back.In a one score game why would you go down by two scores just to get the ball back. Now, I have not seen film of this game and my guess may be wrong but that does not make a lot of sense to me. Good luck to the Engineers the rest of the season and the playoffs.

Estill up by 1 with 1:45 on the clock and they were in the red zone. Allow them to score and then that would make the score 27-20. The plan was to NOT allow the 2 point conversion, but it failed. The hope was to stop the 2 point conversion, rush back down the field to score 6 then put the ball across the goal line for the two point conversion. It could have been 28-27. Estill was just gonna eat the clock and it was our only chance.

I totally agree with the plan and wish they would have actually allowed the td run the play before to allow more time to score, but the 2 point play threw a big monkey wrench into the plan. Would have been nice to stop it, but Estill has a good power game and is a solid football team, they made the play and sealed the win. Hats off to em!! Keep your heads up bears, I think prgress has definitely been made since the Breathitt game,good luck in the playoffs.

It made perfect sense, just read Mama Bears explanation. I'm surprised that Estill County didn't already take a knee or just fall down on the 1 yard line to avoid any come back. HC had no TO's left and that decision almost bit Estill County in the rear because HC ended up on the goaline at the end of the game anyway and could've won had the two point conversion not been successful.
