Nice link to that other thread gamehuntr, I am sure that if you look on any program there may be some kids that play both Varsity and JV. I just view it as a huge risk, especially for a kid from a school with the numbers that X has. I understand use the talent that you have, but when you have 6 deep in the running back spot, maybe you could find enough kids to not have people playing on both sides of the ball, or on 2 teams either. Ideally, you would like to have enough kids to not having anyone be forced to play Offense and Defense, and if you are lucky, Special teams as well. I think we should all just wait to see what happens Saturday.

 

I doubt Hall will play in this one. If you do your history on the St.Xavier program you will find that not many kids have played both ways for Coach Mike Glaser. As for the game, St.X was up 42-0 on Lexington Cath after 1qt without Daylen Hall playing offense. With HHS more than likely bringing down varsity kids for this game I would be looking for a very close game.

Highlands will not be playing varsity kids. They will play JV. There are always a few kids that sometimes play JV and sometimes don't depending on if they are seeing varsity time, which usually has to do with injuries. There are very few juniors on the JV team. Highlands absolutely will NOT be stacking the JV for this game. They will not risk injury to those they need on Fridays just to get some reps on a Saturday.

Why would HHS do that? They will be without a starting JV lbr and another "all purpose" player since he came back from injury but is out again with an injury, but other than that they should be at full JV speed. Again HHS JV played Colerain very tough and should have won, so I see a pretty competitive game. No HHS Varsity players in this one.

St. X. has a very outstanding group of sophomores, who when they all play together are a sight to behold. As far as which players actually participate in this JV game against Highlands, a lot will depend on who particiates in tonight's varsity game against Pleasure Ridge Park, as well as who is healthy. Since the varsity will be playing at PRP tonight on a natural grass surface, and due to all the rain the field will quickly turn into a quagmire, I look for this PRP varsity game to be much closer than it would be normally, and therefore less time for subs. So I predict a fair amount of quality Tiger sophomores will be heading North tomorrow for this JV game.

What kind of field will the game be played on tomorrow...natural grass or Field Turf? Can you provide some driving directions to Highlands for the Tiger fans making the journey to Fort Thomas tomorrow?
