Mickey Mouse tries to cast his vote....

TB&G, hopefully I've come across to you as one of the more level headed quasi conservatives on here (in many conservatives opinions I am a RINO and I'm okay with that) and someone not rash to jump to conclusions. My legal training and experience generally has caused me to not make conclusions until I learn of all the evidence. And while all the evidence is not in yet, there have already been way too many reported instances of voter fraud.

I have to tell you that I believe that what ACORN is doing is very wrong and is manipulating the election. They can claim that they are non partisan until the cows come home, but I don't think it takes a Rhodes Scholar to see what they are actually doing. What they are doing is abusing the voting system and I believe they are doing it to influence the voting results in favor of Obama.

Admittedly, I have long been opposed to making it easier for people to vote. My grandfather served in the military in WWI, my father served in WWII and I also served. In large part we did so to preserve the basic freedoms in this country, one of which is the right to vote and to elect our leaders. And with that right to vote comes with it a right to vote responsibly. That right to vote should not be exercised willy nilly or made easy. It is the most sacred in my opinion of any of our rights because it is the foundation of all our other rights. If Americans are going to be expected to follow our elected leaders, we have to believe that those leaders were validly elected. I think to this day the main reason some D's look on Bush with great distain is because they don't feel he validly won the election vs Gore. And I think the right to vote is an obligation to be taken with the most seriousness of any thing any one does in their lives. It is an action not to be done because it was easy; not to be done because the person is the same color or a different color as the voter; not to be done because the person is of the same party affiliation or a different party affiliation than the voter. But rather to be researched carefully and weighed heavily. A high percentage of voting participation is not why my family has served this country; rather it was so voters would take their voting rights seriously and with the responsibility that my grandfather and father risked their lives in combat to preserve. ACORN's actions to me are insulting to the sacrifices my grandfather and father made for this country.

8 years after Bush was elected and D's felt that he didn't fairly win the election, if Obama gets elected many, many R's will feel the same thing about him. To them, it won't be because more Americans agreed with his policies than McCain; rather they will feel that 100s of 1000s of Americans were pushed to the voting booth by organizations like ACORN, rather they will feel that there was so much voting fraud committed that the election results were skewed. I will support Obama if he is elected to the Presidency because he will be the President of my country. But I feel that many, many people will not look at it the same way I do and we will continue to have a very divided country. And the results will be the same as what we are now experiencing, a divided country with many people feeling the person in the office was not validly elected.

And if that happens, I will blame organizations like ACORN, which are led by people more interested in making sure their side wins than they are about preserving the integrity of the most important right and duty that any American has; the right and duty to vote responsibly.

I certainly agree with the bolded portion. I appreciate your honestly and ability to get your point across without pouring on heapings of rhetoric. I am much more likely to listen to, and consider, your opinion because of it.

I do hope that my posts in THIS thread haven't lead to this post, though. I am honestly trying to understand how someone actually votes multiple times via absentee ballot. I understand that ACORN (and whomever else) has workers that have committed voter registration fraud. There is no doubt in my mind about that. How, though, do those registrations translate into absentee ballots that then constitute voter fraud? I mean, how does "Micky Mouse" vote absentee? How does the kid actually VOTE 73 times. Again, I am sure it occurs. Why else would you go to the "trouble" registering someone 73 times if they could only vote once? I am just trying to understand the actual mechanics of it.

Again, I can't tell you how much I appreciate your respectful post. :thumb:

I'm almost with you (I am evidently slow today :D). So, the same person could walk up and vote absentee 70 some times? Does he come back through the same line that many times or are these at different precincts?

Different precincts. There are stories going around of ACORN members driving people around to different precincts the first week of October in Ohio. There were also stories of people taking phone bills w/ the names of people who recently died in to vote absentee that week. These are just ones that have been found. The workers were complaining that there is no way to go through all the new voting applications b/c there too many to go through.

Anyone else vote that we need to create a separate thread for?

Question - someone registers 73 times. Does that mean he/she votes 73 times? How does the actual voter fraud (not the registration fraud) occur? FWIW, I do not doubt this is occurring at all, I just want to understand the second part of it.
With some authentic looking supporting paperwork and no photo-ID there will be people who cast multiple votes and there will be people not eligible to vote in Ohio who will vote in Ohio.

The big problem with the hundreds of thousands of questionable voter registrations submitted by the ACORN thugs is that in some precincts, election officials will be swamped with phony registrations and delays will result. Then, one of Obama's 9,000 lawyers will yell, "Voting irregularities!" and chaos will ensue.

This is not the first dance to which Barack Obama has brought his dance partners from ACORN. They both know all the steps.

You have a point. Voter registration fraud associated with Obama supporters is becoming a dog bites man story.

I am watching my new favorite show...the O'Reilly Factor. ;) One of the segments that he just had on was about ACORN. He and Megyn Ryan and another FoxNews person (whose name I have forgotten) were discussing what ACORN's motive likely is. They purported that it was not so that "Micky Mouse" or "Jive Turkey" votes, but they got the numbers of new registrations as a way to promote fundraising efforts. They mentioned that some of the people that ACORN hires to work for them are given quotas that they must meet or that they won't get paid. As a result, you get tons of false registrations, but ACORN still meets their numbers. This is still voter registration fraud, no doubt, and surely wrong. However, I guess that it answers part of my overall question about how the 73 false registrations (per the teen in the other thread) translate into votes. It's possible that they don't.

Its also very possible they do....and they vote Obama.

It is possible, but that is not how it was presented on O'Reilly. Honest question - how do you think that the kid that filled out 73 of the registration card will vote 73 times?

Did he fill them out for the same precinct?

In a huge city you could see the same person 5-10 times and not realize it.

^ Actually your link in the "73" thread backs up what was presented on O'Reilly - that the goal is voter registration, by workers who are paid based on quotas of registration cards filled out - not on getting people to actually vote.

That is what happens some of the time and it's still wrong. But, do you really think that the Dems didn't think this was going to happen? What was the point of letting them register and vote the same day? It was so that fraudulent votes would get through.

This can all be summed up by the name of the organization.......

.A.C.O.R.N. = Just a bunch of nuts.

I agree with your first sentence. Who exactly do you mean by "the Dems"?

Thanks TB&G. I've likewise found your posts to be respectful and fair.

While some of the registration and voting fraud is caused by the way ACORN pays its workers, all one had to do is look at Ky voting history to see that voting fraud occurs. With what ACORN is encouraging, it will unfortunately happen in this election. People have been known to register in multiple precincts and vote in multiple precincts. With what is going on in Ohio, I am confident that multiple voting is going on and voting in the name of dead people in going on. And what makes me particularly concerned is that Obama is a product of the Chicago political machine. Even if Obama has nothing to do with it (and since I have no proof that he is, I can't and won't accuse him of having any part of it), given Chicago's past political history, it wouldn't surprise me in the least that people from Chicago are involved. As I've stated before, it is the most politically corrupt city in the world.

I truly hope and pray that if Obama wins, he wins by such a large margin that any reasonable American can safely conclude that he would have won even without the voting fraud.
