Question' date=' I have a nephew/cousin that is only 20. He keeps asking around and getting different answers. What is the qualifications for a head basketball coach?[/quote']

Some schools may have their own guidelines but here are the KHSAA's...http://www.khsaa.org/handbook/bylaws/bylaw27.pdf

24 minutes and counting until most schools start practice.....

So, is "What in the world" for Heritage not hiring a coach yet or me starting a thread about it?

It means what in the world is Heritage doing?

Maybe they aren't going to have a team?

I can't remember this ever happening in NKY. Anyone?

Does anyone know if anything has been done with the players since August? A parent or assistant coach from last year could have been holding open gyms and conditioning but now you're really hurting the players and whoever the coach is going to be.

Has any updates been heard?

They hired someone yesterday. I think it was a teacher. They may have been waiting on his decision to make a hire. Nothing like being on the fence...

No name, but dude hired himself. Not Bert Capel, the principal.

The next question is, what the hell took you so long to make up your mind?

"Finkel...Einhorn" "Finkel..Einhorn" "Finkel IS Einhorn"

Nice one, Ace!

Howard Davis (I believe).

Even at a small school, that's a pretty tough pairing (principal and head basketball coach). I think there's a reason most school districts don't allow the two to be done by the same person. If he's single, has no children, and can operate on 5 hours of sleep, he'll do just fine.

I am a little close to the situation, and know that there was not many who wanted the job. Capel asked me if I was interested early in the school season. IMO Davis probably did not like the list of candidates he had to choose from and with time running out, he took the team.

I know he did the same thing last year for the 8th grade girls team when they had no coach. Howard did a nice job with them and had them playing hard by the end of the season. Hopefully he can get these boys to play hard for him by the end of the season as well.

Good Luck Eagles.

He's got one of the best in the conference to start with in the St. Blanchard kid...

I am sure he will utilize the kid to his utmost potential. Probably run the shoes off the kid. Too bad there is not much else to back him up. I guess this is how it is with Heritage, one or two good players and not much of a supporting cast.

Which one is that? I know one graduated a few years ago, then the one that has been there recently, and also there is a younger one just getting there..
