I think your observation is correct but thats all Scott has. They don't have any big guys to put up there.

Wow, the natives are restless. I just hope they let us get out of there safely. I can honestly say now that I am happy that Casey got out of there. He is way too good of a person to get mixed up in all this. It sounds like more of the same that went on last year when they were calling for his head. I can't understand a program that at one point were winless for 4 straight seasons, feeling that they are going to get a quick fix and emerge as this great playoff team, being in no doubt one of the toughest districts in KY or in any of the 6 classes. Some of the talk last year was baffling. I will stay on point. I am disappointed that they have decided to take their ball and stay home on Saturday. Guess that means that all the JV will have to get their reps on Friday. This is, however, not fair to some people. Now the Frosh who were playing on JV don't get any playing time this weekend, unless Dale wants to let them dress for Friday. I just think its a shame.

I am very happy to hear that. I figured that is what it was. I dealt with some parents from Scott when coaching. There are a lot of siimilarities between Taylor Mill and Fort Thomas. There are many parents and families that are passionate about their community. I just didn't like the way that one of their own was treated last year. If you all stay vigilant and patient, good things will come. These kids just need some consistency.

Okay. Actually Scott's D looks better with the small quick kids than they have in prior years. I like what this guy's doing with the program. And I've got no ax to grind as I don't know either the current coach or last year's coach.

Friday night will be the 28th meeting between the two schools. Highlands has won all 27 meetings between the two schools. Series was played every year from 1979 - 2002. Series stopped for 5 years until both teams were redistricted into 5A in 2007. Scott has been outscored in the series 1,097 to 197, or an average score of 40-7. Competitive? Only once in all these matchups has the final score been less than double digits, with Scott losing 14-7 in 1986.

Can't understand why Scott would cancel a JV game it really can't be about numbers can it All I heard at the beginning of the year is how Scott's numbers increased this year and more kids came out to play because of the new coaching staff all I know is Scott cancelled no JV games the last 2 years because of numbers and they used Freshman players some last year to help get them some more experience.

 

Something seems fishy in Taylor Mill behind the reasoning they would cancel a JV game. I think it might have to do with back to back days of a possible lopsided scoring afair but I could be wrong.:laugh::laugh:

 

They did cancel some jv games in the past due to numbers, vs. Holmes 2007 comes immediately to mind, and that was a numbers issue because they couldn't get the Freshman organized quickly enough to join the team. Last year they brought up alot of Freshman to try to fill the void for the remainder of the jv season. The numbers for '07 and '08 are roughly about the same, not too bad considering the large class from '07 graduated at least 19 players. Not too bad after inheriting a really small senior class this year, especially when about 40% of this senior team are first year Eagles (namely Bruner, Campbell, Wilson, etc.). As all teams go down the stretch in the later half of the year injuries become a factor. Scott is no different in this regard. Younger players are getting more playing time as a result getting valuable varsity experience. As a result, there aren't enough players to field a functioning jv team. I don't think a lopsided game is a concern as much as fielding a team with barely a dozen kids. I don't think it is as conspiratorial as much as you might think. I think it was a fairly simple logical decision...

If the predictions are correct, and it has historically been the case, won't the jv for HHS get a great deal of playing time Friday night? Didn't the Freshman just play a game vs Dixie last night? The bulk of Scott's team should be getting reps on Friday night as well. I don't think anybody is really being left out in this deal.

Can you keep us posted if HHS found a JV opponent for tomorrow? They could always play Brossart's Varsity. I am not sure if they have a game tomorrow or not, but I bet they'd take the game. That program needs to see what it's all about. And, they don't have a field anyway, so we could just do it at HHS and it all works out. BBHS gets a game, JV get some playing time, and the field is covered. I know this is so far-fetched, but it's all I could think of on short notice.

I'll try. I have an e mail into the school to see if any thing has been able to be scheduled. At this point I've heard nothing so I have to assume its not looking good. But if I hear anything definite, I'll make a post.

I know that the FT. Thomas Jr. Football League has revised their schedule to play games at Highlands Sat. morning. Looks like JV didn't get a game.
