Yea I'd heard that, glad to know about the red ring thing though. I was seriously considering just calling and saying it'd happened at some time before my warranty was up. Because I was gonna be way way ticked if it happened like a month after my warranty was up or something.

You sure it's not a refurbished 360? I had to send mine in about a year after I got it (not the RROD) and I got a refurbished one. This one is starting to act up too. If it dies, I better get a new one.

People said it depends on how severe it was I believe. I mean I will not be surprised if it's a refurb, but if it happens again then I will demand an elite for the time and money I've put into my 360..

If mine breaks again, Microsoft is going to have to do more than give me a free month of X Box Live.

I'd say I've gotten plenty out of my investment, but I still don't want it to break. If I had to guess on how much mines been used between games played and movies watched or tv shows. It's gotta be atleast a couple months of actually viewing it. Heck I've got over 18 days in on just COD4.

When mine broke they said that you have a 3 year warranty on the 3 red rings which has to be on purpose or just bad irony. If it is anything else you just have a 1 year warranty. Maybe they changed it because it has happened so much.

Has anyone else got this before on their xbox? I've had mine since Christmas of 06 and never had any troubles, over the last month I've had problems with games freezing, ended up finally dying last week. Called Microsoft and they emailed me a UPS label in like an hour, after that I mailed it out and they received it on Friday and I just got notification that I'll be receiving a new xbox 360 and it was mailed out tonight. Hopefully will have it by the weekend. The new one is under warranty until next July. Great and fast service by Microsoft on this. :dancingpa:dancingpa

 

My son had the same thing happen to his and we shipped it back. They did a great job of communicating with us via email and got it back to us fixed within 2 weeks. You have to be very careful with those machines as far as moving them and securing them.

Well I was supposed to get my xbox today but I came home from work and UPS had already been by, and I missed it. Now I have to wait till Monday. :cry:

There isn't a UPS store in Morehead. It says, according to UPS that the closest UPS store is in Winchestor.
