Microsoft Xbox 360 and the 3 red rings of death

Featured Replies

Has anyone else got this before on their xbox? I've had mine since Christmas of 06 and never had any troubles, over the last month I've had problems with games freezing, ended up finally dying last week. Called Microsoft and they emailed me a UPS label in like an hour, after that I mailed it out and they received it on Friday and I just got notification that I'll be receiving a new xbox 360 and it was mailed out tonight. Hopefully will have it by the weekend. The new one is under warranty until next July. Great and fast service by Microsoft on this. :dancingpa:dancingpa

I think they have quit sending boxes, or have atleast quit unless you specifically ask for a box.

Thats not fair! I got my red ring about a year ago and when I sent mine in I got the box from them rather fast and then it took me almost a month to get back. At least you should get in back for GoW 2!

I got it off ebay, no insurance, no registration or nothing, but I just called in and they said to send it in they would fix it for free. GREAT service.

It's part of their extended warranty. Microsoft has spent over 1billion (not really sure) at least many millions is paying for additional warranty service to give to customers because of the hardware malfunction.

Granted that some of the new xbox's sent to people are refurbished ones.

But if you actually have to send it in like 4 times you can end up talking them into giving you an xbox elite or atleast a couple of free games, or so I've been told by people.

Happened to me last week, unfortunately my Xbox had already been sent off many times before and I was out of warranty. Microsoft is very easy to work with as you said.

I ended up buying a new one the day after mine died, can't live without Xbox live.

Mine has frozen a few times, but usually works ok kinda slow at times. Really kinda nervous about it, bc my warranty is up in February. So if it's gonna happen I hope it does soon.

even once your warranty goes out your still covered if the 3 red rings happen. They fix it for free.

Call xbox live..go to the repairs center, tell them you got the 3 red rings and you need to send it in. They'll email you an e-label for UPS. print it out and put it on a box that your putting your xbox in. Pack it well then ship it off. If you're registered on xbox.com then you can track your repair status it keeps you updated on everything.

You sure? I really want to believe you, it's just that this is the only thing I've been worried about for like six or seven months now. lol. This would be a big relief.

Promise dude. My warranty ran out 12/27/07 and I sent it in for repair and it was repaired for free.. call xbox.

I know so many people who have dealt with this, and all of them got a favorable outcome (minus the down-time, of course;)).

I don't have an XBox, but I am familiar with the Wii's fatal whirring and clicking noise.:irked:

We also had a speedy, favorable outcome.

Good deal man.
