The annual Army Bowl is back at Fort Knox this season.

I've heard festivities are planned all day Friday, with soldiers coming from Fort Campbell and a bunch of higher-ups in the military coming.

Who wins and why?

Ft. Cambell 87

Ft. Knox 6

Ft Campbell - 52

Ft Knox - 0

It could be worse.

Who Wins - are you kidding??? If you have never seen the Falcons - this is your chance to come check them out!

Why - just like the Danville and Ft. Knox match-up - the Falcons are on the opposite end of the caliber scale than the Eagles.

This game is a traditional matchup that has no actual benefit for either team. This is an annual three-hour bus trip for the traveling team that has outlived its relevance. Both teams would be better suited by scheduling a team which is on the same competetive level. I wish the Falcons would schedule Lone Oak each year instead of Ft. Knox. Playing the high-powered 4A Purple Flash would better prepare the Falcons for a 2A title run then taking a three hour trip to hang a 50 on the Ft. Knox scoreboard, just to get on the bus and travel three hours back home.

To the soldiers overseas, this gives them a chance to check out their sons online.

The game will be shown live on the internet and it gives a moment of happiness and relaxation to watch a football game.

For the Ft. Campbell dads, it equals two things; a proud father and bragging rights for the rest of the year.

Is the long drive and all the hassle to play the game worth it? I definitely think so.

Well in years to come this matchup may change due to Ft. Knox getting better.

I've never seen Fort Campbell play. And I've watched Fort Knox several times over the past two seasons and know there's really no comparison when it comes to the two teams.

But if you ask the kids, this is one game they really look forward to each year. Fort Knox knows its not on the same end of the spectrum competition-wise, but they have fun with this game.

Just talking to some of the Fort Knox players since the season started, they are ready for this game.

Again, Knox has Combs!!!

Again, Knox has Combs!!!

What position does Combs play?

Again, Knox has Combs!!!

All I can say is come to the game and check out the Falcons in person.

Ft. Campbell wins easily.

You are right. Ft Knox has had some really good teams in the past when Coach Jaggers was there and may compete again in the future, but for right now the cycle is in favor of Fort Campbell. I don’t think the rivalry has completely outlived its usefulness simply because these are the only two Army high schools in the United States. However, I have to agree with Falcon Backer that the 3 hour drive is a bit painful for a game that has not been close for the past few years. Fort Campbell did loose to Fort Knox in 2002 (Coach Berner’s first year) when Fort Knox last had a winning season, but since then has gone 5-0 by a margin of 237-22. Fort Campbell by 5+ TDs.
