Your opinion about who has talent is irrelevant. Conner knows they have talent. Let's remember we're talking about high school kids here. I'm sure every school has their share of talent, but wins and loses games. Don't count the Cougars out. One loss to the Camels does not mean Conner is done for the season. If anything, it will only fire the team up for the remainder of the season.

Boy, one comment about a poor showing by the Cougars and I've offended BOTH sides.

 

Relax, gentlemen. The only way you have an argument against what I said is if a)you don't think Conner has talent or b)you don't think Campbell is a mid-level NKY 6A team.

 

If you want to argue that, have at it. Otherwise, I'll stand by what I said which was said with no malice towards either (sensitive) side.

Let me add that I think Coach Styer has done a great job in Alexandria. He has been a steadying influence in what seemed to be a revolving door type position. He's got young talent and he's developing it and CC will be better for it.

 

Conner's core seems to be what a good portion of CC's team will be next year - talented juniors who played a lot as sophomores. Both teams will be in the hunt next season.

 

I hope Coach Trosper can get the most out of the talent he has this year and next.

No surprise here. Campbell is a good football team.

IMO Clyde seems to have a grasp on the game of football, his opinions are objective and I have read his posts concerning other teams and games, keep up the good work Clyde! as far as the Conner vs Campbell game is concerned Clyde was simply stating the facts. No way should Conner have lost this game. A Cougar team that started out the season so strong and only because of poor execution let the Boone Co. game slip away goes to Campbell, a team that has been struggling so far this year, only to regress in many aspects into the bad team we witnessed a year ago! Don't be so thin skinned, rather enjoy and learn from a person who clearly understands what it takes to win football games!

Absolutely horrible tackling and way to many penalties have been the norm for this Conner team! A horrible use of some fine offensive weapons also seems to be the norm! There seems to be no real leader on this team! Coach Trosper has his work cut out trying to get the Cougars refocused! Get back to basics and fundamentals, especially tackling!!! Oh yeah and I have an idea lets bring back the POWER I occasionally, like on short yardage and GOAL LINE! DUH!

 

Agreed. Dockery and Pugh can be a load but appearently the coaches just don't think so. It's very suprising how Pugh totaled a good number of yards on a large number of carries as a sophomore, but might touch the ball 5-10 times a game this year? Maybe they'll make some changes this week and utilize the I formation once or twice this friday.

Their offense has not been so great the past 2 games. If you watch the game films from both the Ryle & Boone games Campbell County really shot themselves in their own foot when it came to the offensive side of the ball. During the Conner game the offense played very well and minimized the turnovers. If I remember correctly they only had 1 TO and that was a fumble in the 4th. Campbell County finally put everything together last night and played the way they are capable of playing and the results showed it. Low points for Conner and high points for Campbell County.

 

BTW, I am not surprised by the final score. Campbell County is a very good football team but when they played the way they did the past 2 games the outcomes that happened will happen and that was 2 lost.

All due respect to Prof. Clyde and to Clydesfan22, but I don't think it is being thin skinned. He said that Conner had no talent, that is what upset people. So I suppose it is a "fact" that Conner has no talent.

I think that Campbell would beat Conner 9 of 10 times at Campbell. Thus, no surprise here. Campbell is a good football team, better than Conner. IMO, they will will 7 games this year and make the playoffs as a #3 seed. Conner could easily be 1-3 in the district and out of the playoff hunt if not for an unlikely comeback win vs. SK.

On Friday night, September 26, the best team won. Not shots at either team and not shocking to anyone with football knowledge who understands that it's about match-ups and strengths.

How in the world did I take a shot at Conner's talent when I said they should not lose to CC by 24 points? I've said previously that they have one of the very top QBs in NKY. They have a great JR class. I'm guessing you're a CC fan so I'll ask the Conner folks: Is this team better than a 24-pt loss to the Camels?

 

How did I take a shot at CC when I said they were a mid-level NKY 6A team when they've already lost 2 times before playing Conner? I didn't say Conner was better. I said Conner should not lose by 24. That's not a shot at their talent. IF anything, its a shot at their preparation and those responsible for having them prepared.

 

Saying a team is mid-level is only a shot at those with sensitive ears.
