I'm reminded of a seen from Team America after Oregon St calls the play they just did on first down. I'll substitute a key word from the movie with one that more apropriate for this game...

OSU really needs to score a TD here. FG at the very least, but a TD really seems crucial.

That took wayyyy to much time developing...

You know, the thing is, if they can convert on third down, that's actually really ideal. IMO, you want to run as many plays on the way to scoring to run the clock.

 

Of course, in the time it took to type that, they threw for it and didn't get it.

That may prove to be a fatal mistake. If USC comes back to win, I think that failure to convert and then blocked FG will be the flashpoint of the game.

I just don't understand how some of these coaches call some of the plays they do, and what their thought process is when doing so...

Just noticed that they're doing an Orange out. You know, I really liked these things when they began, but I'm really starting to get tired of red outs, white outs, whatever. I think the last one that I actually really liked was the checkerboard that UT did in basketball that one time.
