September 25, 200818 yr ^Silva is the best striker in the world. He's at the top of his game right now and there's no one on the current 185-lb. radar that can beat him, IMO. In fact, I think he'd tear through the UFC's 205-lb. division as well. He may have to go past the second round in a few fights, but there's no one in that class right now that he couldn't or shouldn't beat. He's the best fighter I've ever seen. Period. He's on a different level when it comes to all-around striking and all-around striking, IMO. He's got one-strike KO power with his hands and feet, he has great reach and if you get in close he can dominate the clinch...there's no weakness in his game. The only other fighter in the world that can be said about is Fedor Emelianenko. There have been questions about GSP mentally and BJ Penn when it comes to motivation. Silva and Fedor can dominate all areas of a fight and there is no weakness mentally, or anywhere else.

The guy is built and is athletic, but Anderson Silva is on another level.

Yes I have seen both fight more than once and just watched both of them lose this week. He would knock both of them out and let it be known I really like Manhoef but he is basically a 185lb Houston Alexander. He would knock out Cro Cop too seeing that you mentioned him.

I really don't hate the UFC, I just can't stand everyone putting Silva on a pedestal. Who has he beat? He has mopped up in the weakest division that the UFC has and lets face it Franklin was more a product of that weak division than him being a great fighter. UFC is the best org in the world overall, but not for MW and LW. Other than Dan has he fought a top MW? He is not Fedor, Fedor has beat ANYONE put in front of him. He is not Georges St. Pierre, as he has beat anyone and everyone the UFC has thrown at him. I want to see him beat Dan again, then another top 10 guy and I'll say he is as goo as everyone claims. September 26, 200818 yr Rich Franklin (twice) Dan Henderson And, while James Irvin isn't exactly a big name, moving up 20 pounds on short notice and knocking a guy out in about a minute with one punch is pretty impressive... Also, keep in mind that Silva hasn't just beat his opponents. He has thoroughly dominated each and every one of them to the point that he has hardly been threatened in a fight, and never seriously threatened. Now, I ask you, who has Melvin Manhoef and Zelg Galesic ever beat to make me think they could outstrike Anderson Silva, much less beat him?
