I think Russell is still a very good football team. A lot of people want to see the mighty tumble i.e Patriots, Yankees, etc.. I think Russell will take care of business friday night and everyone can take a nice deep breath and calm down. I say Russell wins by atleast 4 td's.

We are definitely re-building this year at East and the schedule so far we've had to face has been unreal. Fairview.... Raceland ... Mason... and now Russell at Russell. And to top it all off we still have to play Rowan and Belfry at Belfry.:creepy::creepy::creepy: You've got to love the irony of this year and this schedule . And next year we re-classify to 4A. :eek::eek::scared::eek::eek: We may .... MAY.... have a shot at winning 2 games this season.

 

Personal fouls is killing us this year. We need to keep our heads. This is easy for me to say standing on the sidelines but you can't win if your going to hand your opponet 100 yards in penalties a game. I said from the start of this season even though it pained me to say it ... This was going to be a long season.

I have played for teams (GCHS 1983) and been around others that survived long rebuilding years. It is hard on morale but it does build character. You can't brag about the team due to the record but you can smile at what you and your teammates were able to accomplish by continuing to work hard and not give up. Life is hard and years like this help you through those tough times. Like they say, "Football is the game of life. What you learn on the field will get you through." Better words were never spoken. Keep your heads up in Grayson, better days are ahead.

West, Lewis, and Morgan are all very winnable games. I actually think East should be favored in all 3. Rowan is playing well, but I would call it winnable as well.

I made the same observation after the East Carter-Mason County game last week. East was able to roll up the yards on the ground, but seemed to shoot themselves in the foot on several occasions with penalties and missed assignments.
