September 23, 200817 yr No Wells, freshman QB, against a spread offense and OSU won. I am sure they will take it. If the Gators didn't have there Heisman Tebow, I don't think they would operate like a well oiled machine either. And let me get something straight the UL crowd is calling out OSU... I believe Florida won the National Championship against OSU, and well Tebow only played a handful of snaps in that game. The QB they had really wasn't much of a runner, and well they still did what they wanted against that overrated defense. So Florida under Urban Meyer has done well in that offense even without Tebow.

That imo is the fact that most can't stand bc their teams just aren't good enough.:sssh: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: Well if the Big 10 stay weak like it has the last few years, then you all are right they will be back in soon. However trying to rub it in and say other peoples teams just aren't good enough is wrong IMO. Because you could have taken alot of teams and switched them and OSU and they would have made the National Championship to while playing in the Big 10 lately. So its not a matter of teams not being good enough, its a matter of teams not playing in the Big 10. :sssh:
September 23, 200817 yr Pryor looked good and it's about time Tressel opened up the play book and let him make some plays. Boeckman isn't going to win us games or lose us games, which is one reason why we can't compete with the elite in the country. I've never been a big fan of Boeckman, good to see Pryor start a new and promising era in Columbus. Give the Big Ten a few years, we will be back.
September 25, 200817 yr Congratulations Buckeyes! Pryor looked good, and OSU now starts conference play this week. You can see that Ohio State has made some changes in their recruiting over the last couple of years. For example they picked up the #1 most sought after QB in the nation last year in Pryor. They are not only recruiting size on the line, but speed as well. This will be seen over the next couple of years. Other teams in the Big 10 are doing the same thing, give michigan a couple of years and they will be back at the top. By the way I do believe that Michigan beat Florida last year in the Capitol One bowl game. It makes me laugh to hear fans talk about their conferences rather than the team they like. It's like they are just selecting 14 teams to root for. It doesn't matter if you like Ohio State or not, the fact is they will work their way back up into the top 10 by the end of the year and will play in a major bowl at the end of the season. GO BUCKS!

Compare these! Looks to me like weak non-conference schedules all the way around! Ohio State - Youngstown State, Ohio U. USC, Troy LSU - Appy State, Troy, North Texas, Tulane Tennessee - UCLA, UAB, Wyoming, and No. Illionois UK - Louisville, Norfolk State, Middle Tennessee, WKU Georigia - Ga Southern, Central Michigan, Arizona State Arkansa - Western Illinois, UL-Monroe, Tulsa Oklahoma - Chattanooga, Cincinnati, TCU Florida - Hawaii, Miami of Florida, Citadel Missouri - Illinois, SE Missouri State, Nevada, Buffalo Wisconsin - Akron, Marshall, Fresno, State, Cal Poly Teams will play one good non-conference opponent, out of the 3 or 4 games they have. OSU played the #1 team in the nation early. How would other teams have reacted? Of your aforementioned group, they (Wisconsin excepted) get suitable challenges in conference to prepare them for their bowl to help make up for the early diet of softies. OSU does not, as is painfully obvious to everyone in the country who does not cheer for the Suckeyes.

September 25, 200817 yr Author Going undefeated for any team is a major challenge. The one thing OSU has going for them is there willing to change things. You got the top QB recruit in the country who through 4 TD's today in this first start. They got the top RB out of Florida coming in next year, Cris Carters son coming in from FL next year. They have two linebackers from FL who were top top at there positions this past year. They are bringing in more pure athletes but they have to translate it on to the field on Saturday's. :thumb: ..........and imo they will do just that. As you said earlier, within a couple of years there will be more loaded, Tressel is obviiously going into the talent and speed rich state of Fla. and getting some of their top players. I still am amazed and the amount of overall top h.s. talent the state of Florida produces year in and year out.

September 26, 200817 yr Soft is one thing the Buckeyes have taken it to another level. I don't see you reasoning here, how is playing the #1 team in the nation (USC) and a very good Troy team a soft schedule? It isn't at all. The previous thread shows other teams non-conference schedule, they are very close in comparison. However, Ohio State could play USC, Texas, and Oklahoma in non-conference and people would still complain that it was soft. Non win here, fortunatley it doesn't matter what people think!
