September 16, 200817 yr Author I wonder what kind of owner he would be? "Looks" like a really good businessman, of course that doesn't guarantee anything. Here is an article about him and his rise to success. While I don't understand any of it, it looks impressive. http://www.chicagogsb.edu/news/daa2005/03-ricketts.aspx
September 16, 200817 yr If he's just a businessman then he's not going to care about winning or losing or pumping money back into the team. Cubs sell out regardless and make money regardless and if they aren't pumping money back into the team, they will just be complacent making money off the luxury tax like the Royals. The Cubs need a fan, an ego maniac obsessed with winning and being the best, bar none

As long as they continue to do that, I will be happy. I don't want a Pittsburgh or Kansas City situation where players are developed and then right when they are ready to take off, they are traded/sign elsewhere since they won't be paid in those cities. Yes, I would rather have Cuban, but we will what happens.

September 17, 200817 yr Author Cubs take round 1 and hand Sabathia his first loss. A loss he should've been handed a long time ago, but what can you do. Magic number down to 4!!!
September 17, 200817 yr Author FIRE SVEUM!!! Good idea, they can have Yount manage the team for the Reds series and then find a couple more managers to finish off the last couple series of the year.
September 17, 200817 yr If Houston keeps losing, they can fire Cecil Cooper. He would be available. Maybe Gorman Thomas and Paul Molitor if they aren't busy. But then again, Yost was a former Brewer and that didn't work out....
