Matters of genuine substance like fake outrage over "lipstick on a pig"? The economy's in the tank, we're engaged in 2 wars, major banks are failing, real income has been stagnant over the last seven years and McCain's talking about his dishonest 'interpretation' of Obama's lipstick on a pig remark.

 

Don't forget the whole "oohhh....he sent a text message!" Obama saga. :lol:

Where does the ad say John McCain can't type? It says he doesn't know how to use a computer and can't send an email. Since when does pointing out someone being techologically illiterate equate to saying someone can't type? There are plenty of people who can't type for one reason or another but who can use a computer and send an email. There's no reason why McCain couldn't join the rest of the computer-literate world if he were motivated to learn new technology.

 

I'm not in the Secret Service by no means, but I guarantee the President of The United States does not send presidential material (or anything for that manner) by email. I'll bet he has someone like Monica to send out his interoffice memos and jokes. More proof the left is grasping at anything.

I don't believe he knows any less about the economy than Obama, but Obama will just lie through his teeth about it. More change?

I'll assume this is directed at me.

 

As for articles, we're given just one from 2000 that states he physically cannot use a keyboard. With as much play as the "can't raise his arms above his head" don't you think not being able to type would be mentioned? What about the laundry list of other daily activities I asked about? One has to believe if he can't type on a keyboard he can't brush his teeth or lift a glass to his mouth. Is that not logic?

 

What I believe instead is that it just takes him a little more to type. I am in no way making fun of him or deriding him. I of course am very grateful for what he did for our country and don't doubt his suffering is immense.

 

What irks me, though, is that "certain posters", as you call them, pick a fight about everything. McCain himself admits he's computer illiterate. Whether or not that matters to you as a voter is another story. Obama is slammed for a "classless" ad because it contradicts something someone said in an article 8 years ago. With the amount of Obama bashing in this forum you would believe that the Republicans are more "scared" of Obama than the Dems are of Palin.

 

You do have to admit (I hope) that if it is painful to use the key board due to his injuries, its somewhat understandable why he's computer illiterate.

 

And I feel that that the belief that he is computer illiterate really is a non issue (at least to me). So what if he is computer illiterate? I work with some brilliant lawyers that know little about the internet. I represent owners of businesses that each employ hundreds of Americans in good paying jobs that don't know much about the internet. They don't do their own typing and still get their news either on TV or in hard copy newspapers. And they are much more informed than a lot of posters on here (based on my assessments of their posts). When I saw Obama's ad, I chuckled and thought to myself: If Obama's trying to use that to make points against McCain, McCain's in pretty good shape. Hopefully no intelligent voter would cast a vote to decide our next President based on something as totally irrelevant as knowledge of a computer. And pulleeeeeeze don't say that McCain's lack of knowledge about the computer supports the argument that McCain's out of touch with America. To argue that point would require a poster to be forced to acknowledge that Run To State, an avid poster and someone very knowledgeable about the computer, e mails and the internet, IS in touch with America. Now that's a scary thought. :laugh: (Just kidding with you my friend).

 

This whole computer knowledge issue is really a non issue of the greatest proportions. Come on people focus on the real issues that voters need to look at before they make up their minds for whom to vote. We need someone in the Oval Office that understands what's going on in Russia, Afghanistan, Syria, Iran, Iraq, China, India, Venzuala, our military, the CIA, the FBI, Homeland Defense, our financial markets, our economy, the Fed, tax and regulatory issues confronting those things that create jobs for Americans ( you know those evil things called "businesses") the energy situation and energy policy, etc, etc, etc. Not how to open or send an email to RTS or be able to log onto BGP to see what advise about Afghanistan Hatz is posting.

Don't take the bait and get distracted. Focus on the real issues.
