September 1, 200818 yr Had they eeked out one more FG, this would be a 5 pager! You are probably right but after the agony of defeat, most of the UM faithful seem to have eeked out of town.
September 1, 200818 yr Where are all the UM supporters? If this were an OSU thread it would be 5 pages by now.:sssh: Na. No one really cares about the Big Ten, which is basically a Division 1AA conference. Congrats on beating Youngstown State.
September 1, 200818 yr I'll be honest, this one surprised me. Not shocked but it did surprise me. I know that most people will tell me how they knew all along that Utah was a lock and I knew that they had a good team but still, they were basically dominant in the game. I dont think it was as close as the score was. I know they have a new coach, new schemes, opening game, etc, etc, but they are still Michigan, the winningest program in college football. I know Coach Rod does a good job but I was a Carr fan. He is a fine person who is the epitome of what a college coach should be. His record will stack up against anyone who ever coached.

September 1, 200818 yr Look up R-Rod's track record. His teams usually don't hit their stride until year 2. This season will likely be a struggle for Michigan, with some ups and downs, but I don't think anyone with a realistic outlook expected Michigan to immediately look like West Virginia with Pat White and Steve Slaton.... If I were a Michigan fan, I'd be disappointed with the loss, but pleased that the team didn't quit and fought back to almost tie the game. But, the fact is, they're learning a new offense, and they're being forced to run it with players who weren't recruited for that style and aren't the ideal fits. It will take a little time, but Michigan will be better off for it. The question is, do Michigan fans think it's worth it to suffer through a year or two for a big payoff, or would they have rather had Lloyd Carr who consistently underachieved.

I am not jealous of OSU, I do hate them though. Hate their fans, their players, their state. Just funny the love for them when they dont play good teams, and when they do, they get blown out!

Or maybe some of us have things to do besides be on a computer all weekend long.....
September 1, 200818 yr Anyone who didn't think this team would struggle was kidding themselves. They lost their top 2 QBs, top 2 RBs, 4 O-lineman, top 2 WRs, etc....They aren't a very good football team, but Michigan fans are smart and realize that, and don't like to overhype our team like a certain rivals fanbase does every year.
