You could be right but why do you think that? I would say FC should be favored but I think and hope Mayfield could win. Mayfield has plenty of speed to match up with FC but even with a Card lose and FC is as good as expected and we play them close, I will be happy.

I would say that Ft. Campbell is going to be favored in this one, this years cards team could still be a bit young to pull this one off, but it could still happen. I think if the team I saw start the first of last season shows up, anything could happen. I'm with snake, if we play em close, I will feel a lot better about this season,

I would feel alot better about this game if it were played midway through the season instead of the first game. The Cards will be good...just will have to go through some early bumps. They have enough talent to win the game...and will be a fun team to watch all season long...but to start off against a Ft. Campbell team that returns alot from last seasons 2A state champs will be a very tough test for the Cards. Good thing is that they probably will not face a better team than Ft. Campbell all season long no matter who they face.

 

Mayfield did some good things against both Milan, TN and Christian County but also made some young mistakes in those contests.

 

IMO...the first quarter will be the key to the game for the Cards. If they can move the ball, and make some defensive stops early then it could be a fun game to watch. I still have to favor the Falcons to win the game...but hey it's Mayfield versus Ft. Campbell and as we used to see in the 80's and early 90's...when these two teams get together it usually goes down to the wire...and this year it would not surprise me to see it happen again.

I understand how you feel about playing later in the season...Both Teams will be getting there feel of things...One of the great things about this game is it means almost nothing as far as getting to Louisville...This game is a Toss up...I still go with Mayfield...I Feel there is going to be something special about this Mayfield team...

Well, one thing that makes it interesting is that Ft. Campbell lost to Graves last year and played Tilghman a very close one. Those are two teams that Mayfield had a fairly easy time with so it could shape up to be a good game, depending on which Mayfield team shows up to play, so far this year I haven't noticed any player conflicts, time will tell.

Don’t get me wrong, I think Mayfield could win, but I believe as long as FC plays the way they have been scrimmaging, then I believe FC will win. Maybe I’m underestimating Mayfield, but from the way the Falcons have played in their two scrimmages and what I’ve read about Mayfield’s scrimmages I believe Fort Campbell’s offense will put up a lot of points and their varsity defense hasn’t given up a score yet in either scrimmage. Both teams scrimmaged tough competition and watching FC, they won both scrimmages handily. Granted, a scrimmage is not a game. However, it is a good indicator.

Good points,FC. I'm using this game as an early season test to see how we will fair. I think the coach's are pleased somewhat with how Mayfield has done in their two scrimmages. We have played two very good teams in the scrimmages. I saw one and liked what I saw.

I think I read Mayfield will be without their best lineman, that is worrysome, I"ll take Mayfield, just because I'm gonna be a hommer

I like Mayfields chances in this one...I think this years Ft Campbell team could be one of there best by years end, but, the Cardinals always seem to play better against better competition and I'm sure they know how good Ft Campbell will be...I think the team speed that FtC usually has will be somewhat neutrelized by the Cards, but, if Mfd is to win, they'll have to limit mistakes and the big play capability of the Falcons and wrap up on there tackling...If not, it could be a long night...Either way, I do think games like these help both teams in the longrun...
