August 15, 200818 yr BK is not going to play him on a court order. Only way he is back on the team is if cleared by the NCAA. The part that will be interesting is the NCAA not following their appeals process that say in the final appeal he gets to state his case... This may be apples and oranges, but if the judge says he is allowed to participate, shouldn't BK let him? Could Mauk sue UC/BK as well for not allowing him to partcipate? Isn't this the rock and a hard place Highlands was caught between with Mitchell?
August 16, 200818 yr I'm a little more disturbed that he hasn't graduated yet, going on 6 years? He had plenty to time to hit the books while he was injured. Methinks he just went to school to play ball and not get an education, which is the problem with many athletes. I wish every school did what ND does. If you want to play a 5th year, you have to graduate and be accepted to grad school. Otherwise, see ya later.

August 17, 200818 yr I heard on the news the other night when this broke that UC decided because he filed the lawsuit on his own that he still will not be able to practice with the team or anything else because they are afraid if he does it will violate NCAA rules to go along with their decision not to grant the 6th year of eligibility.

August 20, 200818 yr Looks like Mauk will finally get his 10 minutes to state his case to the NCAA... The NCAA will re-hear Mauk's appeal, according to NCAA spokesman Erik Christianson. No word yet on when that will be, but it's expected to happen before the weekend. My guess would be Friday. "We will re-hear the matter," Christianson said in an e-mail. "The NCAA’s procedures allow for its hearings to be reopened in certain circumstances, such as to hear new evidence not previously available.
