That CJ85 interview was hilarious. He seems to be his old self, said Ray Lewis straightened him out and that he was not thinking straight in the off season.

The Bengals are loaded at WR. They have a lot of promising young talent. The Utecht pickup and return of Perry... I think the offense is gonna be better than ever.

 

Oh, the O-Line is finally healthy too.

Just saw Peter Brady on the sidelines of the Bengals. Apparently he is our DC now.

The Bengals are playing?? As much as they have talked about the Browns I figured they were playing the Packers.

 

Good grief, whats the obsession with them all of a sudden. Derek Anderson will come back to Earth this year. I still think Cincy is the better team.

I agree. I have never understood the appeal of Chad Johnson other than his endzone celebrations and pregame smack talk (both of which are fun, by the way). Put him in front of camera at a non-staged moment and he is one of the worst interviews in sports, imo.

Marv cannot be happy with the "Dade County" comment.

The first series on defense I was okay with then after that the defense just could not bring anyone down. To much arm tackling and if that is the way we plan to play defense we are in for a long season again. I know it was the first pre-season game and all just was dissappointing to me. JD

Just some observations from last night:

 

- You can see a difference in the defense. They are definitely more aggressive. However, it seems the middle of the field is still always open, and they still can't tackle.

 

- Rivers looked solid, but did have a couple missed tackles.

 

- If Shirley can learn to go 100% every play, then he's going to be a good one. One play he'd blow the lineman off the line and push him back into the qb, but then the next play it would look like he'd just stand there.

 

- Ahmad Brooks looked lazy too many times. The guy has all the physical attributes to be very good.

 

- Brandon Johnson looked like the 59 we're all used to. He was always around the ball when he was in there.

 

- Marvin White is a hitter as advertised, but he needs to wrap up too.

 

- Utecht is going to be a very nice addition to the offense.

 

- It's nice to see Perry out there running like he was. I hope he can stay healthy, because he adds a whole new dimension to the offense.

 

- Outside of field goal units, special teams were horrible.

 

- Jeff Rowe looked scared out there when running the offense.
