Can anyone tell me how many students LCA has? I saw them in the state game last year and thought they had an outstanding team. It seemed as though they were all young. Who are the player they have added and what position do they play?

According to the KHSAA website, LCA has 1236 students.

My prediction this season. Beechwood and LCA will never meet ! Hazard will beat LCA twice this season and meet Beechwood in the State Championship game.

 

Hazard is an excellent team this season, but has no Championship experience.

This will be their downfall ! The BEECHWOOD TIGERS will have back to back rings to wear.

I don't believe that is accurate. LCA is K-12. Maybe that is the number. I think there are about 450 co-ed students in high school.

How on earth (or in the KHSAA's eyes) could they possibly be that large and compete in single A ball????

Former Hazard TE Joey Meehan has transferred from Hazard to LCA. LCA was able to fill one of their biggest needs at the TE position, while also weakening the Hazard offense. When you are a Class A school loosing a starter with the ability of Meehan can be devastating as you usually just don't have the depth to replace that kind of talent. Congrats to LCA, they got a great player and a good kid he will make a fine addition to their team. Hazard still returns 10 other starters on offense and 8 on defense so they still have a chance to make some noise. They have some tough games on the schedule (Green Co., at Johnson Central, at LCA) that should help them be ready for the playoffs.

Bluto Jrs. #1 & #2 each had about 100-110 kids in their grade level.

So what is the cutoff for single A? Isn't it like 500 or 550?

No way can I see a school with 1200+ kids being single A.

They have 1 thur 12.

That is the K-12 levels. High School is 450. the last graduating class was 96.

Eligible. He moved from Hazard, which is far enough away to allow transfers.

 

Last year Meehan scored 2 receiving TDs in the game at Hazard, and another one in the rematch. As a linebacker he also knocked one of our players out of the Hazard game.
