Stats don't support Jr should NOT have been hitting 3rd.

Lets bring some actual Griffey numbers into the equation. In the wins where he was in the 3 hole, he batted .263. In the losses, he batted .244. In the losses, he had a total of about 14 RBIs.

.244/14 RBIs in the 3 hole is simply unacceptable. The 3 hole is reserved for your best hitter.

These stats tell me that the Reds won IN SPITE OF JR in the 3 hole.

LBBC, this is quite possibly the worst argument ever for a 3 hole hitter....

I thought you were going to show some comparable numbers to other 3 hole hitters. Regardless of their record, your 3 hitter MUST be more productive.

The above noted 6-17 mark WITHOUT Junior in the three hole was also

WITHOUT Junior in the lineup? Correct?

Wonder what kind of record the Reds would have if Junior was in the lineup,

but not necessarily in the three hole. Since it didn't happen this year, it

prevents another comparison: record with Junior in the three hole and

record with Junior batting in another slot. He was automatically written in

in the three spot when he played, which was pretty regular.

Again, the question is posed: Did Dusty Baker really sign off on the issue

of Junior batting third with the notion that "he (Baker) just didn't want to

fool with it (batting Junior anywhere else in the lineup)". The only lead on

this is hearing Paul Daugherty 'quote' Baker on this notion on his (Daugherty's)

radio show last week. Has this statement truly been made that any one

can recall or document?

Stats don't support Jr. should NOt have been hitting 3rd.

I don't know where he should have hit. But the title is confusing with the double negative. And your a teacher, I expect better. :D

DUDE! Bronson Arroyo should have been hitting in the three hole!:dancingpa

No.

He did play during some/all of the 6-17 games for the Reds and batted

elsewhere other than third? Pinch-hitting?

Here is the unfortunate thing you guys won't want to hear.

With Jr in the 3 hole, they are a 500 club.

With your guys' wish of someone else, that drove them way below .500.

Ever hear of taking one step back to gain 2 steps forward? This is really basic stuff here. .500? I can't believe someone uses .500 as the cruxt of their argument. Absurd at best:sleep:
