If there is any position in football to be weak in, it is linebacker, they have help in front of and behind them.

I'll say this as many times as I have to. Linebacker is the easiest position on the defense. Everything is set up for them to make the play.

 

It is no coincidence that linebackers tend to be the most athletically balanced on the field, the athleticism separate the good from the bad in this position, not talent, because the position isn't that hard in comparison. In the NFL safety is the only position paid less than linebacker on the defense, largely because it is an easy position to fill.

 

If I'm going to be weak in any position on the defense I want it to be linebacker.
