Just found out that Phipps is possibly moving this year.

 

She returning.

Just talked to her mom today. Shes not going anywhere. You need to get your facts straight , before you start spreading rumours .

I will apologize since I was wrong but 10 minutes before I put that on I was told by a reliable source that she was not. Once again sorry I was wrong. Did you notice the word POSSIBLY in my statement. I hope she does stay she is a good kid.

We're gonna keep this thread civil or it will receive the padlock and some of you will be on the outside looking in.

Ladies and gentlemen ...... I have tried to keep my mouth shut on this issue ( and if you know me that is a tough thing to do... keeping my mouth shut ) but we need to pause and think of a couple things.

 

1. I cannot believe that we as adults would let something like "BALL" ruin friendships and bring about such anonymosity / hatred. Amazing is all I can say.

 

2. We need to remember that a lot of these young ladies will no doubt read these boards and what are they going to think ? This is supposed to be an exciting time in their lives. They definitely don't need anymore stress than they get from other peers and such. School and growing up is stressful enough these days.

 

3. 20 years from now what have these fights / arguements accomplished ? My 3 kids as of today do not play ball but if they ever do I wouldn't let them play if this is what it amounts too.

 

 

Mr. Watkins is taking over a young team that may or may not have a winning season. But why not let the girls play, have a good time, and let their record speak for itself.

 

Just some ponderings from an ole' boy that loves sports but hates the politics that goes with it.

Coach Watkins will do a fine job at Rose Hill. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few of those girls back at the Hill in a year or two. The grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence.

Very well said I agree 100%. I think that it was a good hire- for Rose Hill to hire Mark Watkins as coach he knows the game and also knows how to teach the game it may take some time but I do believe that Rose Hill will. The young ladies will have win and have some fun doing it. They will have a better record than last year I think,they will be young and I think that they will suprise some teams.

The biggest problem Rose Hill will have this year is the lack of varisty playing time. Only 2 girls on the team have quality varisty minutes. If they win more games than last season it will be on of the biggest surprises in girls basketball this year.

There are three players with quality varsity minutes - Friley, Mayes , Day plus the unlimited potential of Phipps. Rose Hill will compete by tourney time.

I just don't remember Phipps from last year. What was her number? I'm glad you support your team, but to say that they will be ready by tourney time will be a reach for this years team.

I watched Mark coach in the past. These girls will learn a lot from him and have fun doing it. They will be fine. Good luck Lady Royls.

Good luck to all of the young ladies at Rose Hill. I have confidence that Coach Watkins will get the most out of the girls talents. All of the Watkins I know were great athletes, and if Mark can coach as well as the Watkins family can play, then Rose Hill will be a team to be reckoned with again in the future.
