NCC....has been building for the past three years. They will be quite a team...different than the past few years though with the addition of new talent as well as their Libero Michelle Woods returning after surgery and playing some great volleyball! That group of girls work hard, have fun and are very competitive. It should be a fun Volleyball Season!:dancingpa

Taylor Snyder was on Beechwood's varsity as an 8th grader last year . She has enrolled as a freshman at NCC this year I assume so as to play on the same team as her cousin Kaela Jo Freppon . She is not the only 8th grader who played on another team last year that has been there . The O'Day girl who played at Highlands and a girl who played at Dayton have also been at tryouts at NCC this week .

Does anyone STILL have any idea where the all A is being played??? Can't find any information on it on the KHSAA. I think it is a great idea for a tournament and evidently we are signed up for it........still dont know WHERE IT IS?????

 

The place in Louisville I heard. Mid America? Is that right?

My source and her sources also seem to be in the dark about the All-A volleyball tournament even though it is on their schedule .

Anyone out there in charge of this tourney? Parents/players/schools and teams are trying to make travel plans and scheduling arrangements. Who's running this tournament and why is information so scarce?

I was told today that it will be held at MAVA " The Mid -American Volleyball Academy " in Louisville . I guess Ron didn't want this one .

This is from the 9th region "All A" rep. This so-called all A tourney is not affiliated w/the All A as we know it w/the baseball/basketball. It is a completely different organization. He did not know anything about it!

I've been told this as well. From what I hear, the "volleyball powers that be" would not agree to some of the requirements of the real "ALL A" as we know it and started by Steidel years ago. Thus, they started their own, which IMO was a mistake, because the real "ALL A" people have done a great job and are a proven thing. In addition, I've heard the "real ALL A" folks have a copyright on the name, and either have, or will be pursuing the others to quit calling their tourney the "ALL A".

Granted that the "All A" folks have done a great job with the sports that currently sponsor. Why, however, are we almost 30 years into the "All A" history and volleyball still has no tournament? Is the volleyball community to wait another 30 years until Stan and the group get around to them?

 

With "All A" sponsored tournaments in Baseball, Softball, Basketball, Soccer, Golf and even Cheerleading, where is VOLLEYBALL??? I believe that makes volleyball the only non-classed sport without "All A" sponsorship. KUDOS to whomever decided to take this task on and find a way to include volleyball.

 

I also heard that all 9th region teams that meet the enrollment criteria were approached and most indicated that they were either not interested becasue they didn't think that they would be competitive or that, if they did qualify, their school would not allow them to participate in a tournament that included over-night stays.

I wonder if there is a way to find out who is signed up. Beechwood is and I am pretty sure St. Henry is jas well. Dont know about the rest.
