No way the Giants should be favored again. Strahan is gone. Bradshaw may be facing some sort of suspension for off the field troubles. Plax and Shockey are both disgruntled and IMO one will probably be traded.

There is NO way Plax gets traded. He's stated himself that he thinks this will all be worked out by training camp. He was at the camp, he just sat out. So it's not like he didn't show up.

 

Shockey is disgruntled at this point. I'm not sure what will happen to him.

 

Strahan is gone, which doesn't help. But players retire, that is part of the game. Justin Tuck will be getting more PT now, and that should scare some opposing linemen. He's a monster.

 

If Bradshaw is suspended, it will not hurt the Giants that much. Derrick Ward will be back and for a while he was probably the Giants best back. He filled in nicely for Jacobs last year when Jacobs was hurt. They also have Droughns and their best runner in Brandon Jacobs. The Giants are deep at running back. I still don't think Bradshaw will be suspended, and if he is, it won't be too severe.

I like the Saints or Packers.

 

I don't see the Saints as that serious of a contender. I don't think Sean Peyton can lead a team to the super bowl.

Bradshaw filling in for Ward was one of the main reasons the Giants started playing so well later in the year. Same can be said for WR Steve Smith's return. He gave them a very good option as their 3rd WR.

 

The Giants rookies last year made unheard of contributions.

 

Aaron Ross, Steve Smith, Kevin Boss, Ahmad Bradshaw, Michael Johnson, Jay Alford, Zak DeOssie all made huge contributions.

You acted like the Giants were trying to move him. That NEVER happened. They listened to offers (Jerry Reese stated that no one is un-tradeable) and they turned all of them down, including some pretty enticing offers from New Orleans including a 2nd rounder.

A lie? :lol: You are right, they weren't just a top 3 team. They were the BEST team. They won what...10 consecutive road games last year?

 

They nearly beat the Pats at home in week 17. They beat the Bucs, Cowboys and Packers on the ROAD. They beat the boys with a badly beat up secondary, and the Packers in the frozen tundra. They rarely lose there when it is that cold. Then they go and beat the Pats on a neutral field. That isn't just "getting hot". That's being a darn good team. The best, as a matter of fact.

 

You forgot to throw in the two times the Cowboys beat them during the season, as well as the six games they lost total. I don't care what team it is, you are not one of the best teams in the league with 5+ losses. They got hot when they needed to but to say they were the best team in football last year just because they won the title is very laughable.

I guess I would favor the Cowboys slightly over the Giants at this point. Can't see the Packers there with a new QB.

Probably so but if Deuce can come back healthy then I think they have a chance. I think it'll be a good year for them, but who knows. Reggie Bush really needs to take his game to the NFL level.

Um...the Giants got a lot of help late in the season from Steve Smith. That really helped their offense start clicking. He was huge during the playoffs.

 

It doesn't matter what you think, the FACT of the matter is, the Giants were the best team in football. That's fact. There is nothing to argue. The Colts were the best team in football last year. The team that wins has the right to say that...

Oh, and from what I'm reading, the efforts to trade Shockey are over. The Giants have listened to all offers and declined all offers. He's worth more than they are willing to give up.
