You forgot to throw in the two times the Cowboys beat them during the season, as well as the six games they lost total. I don't care what team it is, you are not one of the best teams in the league with 5+ losses. They got hot when they needed to but to say they were the best team in football last year just because they won the title is very laughable.

 

Oh, btw, you forgot to mention that one of the games the Giants lost to the Cowboys was the first game of the season. The Giants defense stunk early on in the year vs Green Bay and Dallas. They were learning a completely new system and had guys in positions that they had never played in before. Strahan was playing in his first action of the season, and Osi Umenyiora and Brandon Jacobs both went down with injuries early in the game.

 

Fact of the matter is; the Giants got it done when it really counted. They beat the Cowboys with a practice squad lining up in the defensive backfield, and they did it in Dallas.

Dallas should be the NFC favorites on paper going into the season...

 

I don't feel obligated to favor the Giants in the NFC just because the won the Super Bowl last year. The fact that teams almost never repeat should make it acceptable to pick someone other than last year's champion.

I think the Giants will be a playoff team with a legitimate shot at making another run to the Super Bowl.

 

On the other hand, it is quite possible they will have a let down year. But with their talent and good coaching I do not see that happening.
