Michael was better because he was an overall better offensive weapon that was equal on his ability to hit jumpers, post up and drive. Kobe is not the same offensive weapon from the post with is back to the basket that Michael was.

A whole lot of youth on this Laker team. Much like MJ when the Bulls couldn't get past the Pistons. Still a lot of chapters left in the Kobe book, so we'll see how it changes. If these young Lakers grow the stones we saw from guys like Grant, Paxson, Kerr and the unheralded but tough rotation the Bulls had in the middle, we'll get to revisit. Kobe is still yet to have the luxuries MJ had when he was ripping off titles. It's funny how people now seem to think it was all Jordan. Far from it...

I think this series indicated that Kobe's game from the post is lacking. That is where this series comes into play.

 

Kobe has earned my appreciation and respect since playing with the national team, last summer was it? He has and is becoming a more complete and dominant player than I believe he was a short 3 years ago.

 

Adding Bynum to the mix next year will make the Lakers even better. They give some heart into Gasol and Odom and they will be great.

MY personal opinion, Pippen is NOT one of the top 50 NBA players of all time.

 

The Bulls had to get past some very good teams that might pull off a championship or two in today's NBA. The Pistons were very good. The Knicks were solid. The Suns, Trailblazers, and Jazz were excellent teams.

So basically you are blaming Gasol and Odom for not doing their jobs on Kobe, makes a lot of sense. Kobe is not going to be able to play in the post agaisnt Pierce, let alone having the best team defense in the NBA lead by KG and Perkins backing him up, he wasn't going to score in the paint if he wasn't hitting his jumper, if your going to blame Kobes lack of scoring on anything blame it on the 3 for 18 he had shooting jump shots today.
