June 20, 200818 yr You make a great arguement and a good post here, I just don't really agree with you. I think with McHale or Byrd, either could have been the star of their team. Same with Kareem or Magic. Pippen just wasn't that caliber of a player IMO. I loved him with the Bulls and glad he played along side Jordan, but I just feel that without Jordan, he really wouldn't be remembered the much...IMO. I'll say this and then back to the thread...Pippen did take his team to the playoffs when Jordan retired the first time. He was a questionable Hubert Davis foul from beating the Knicks in seven. I think we may be forgeting how good Pippen was but remember; Jordan never won a ring before Scottie and never won one after Scottie. Ask Joe Dumars and Isiah Thomas about the importance of Pippen to the Bulls finally taking down the Pistons. They both talked about his importance after they lost to the Bulls. Ask Phil, heck ask Mike.
