June 4, 200818 yr Im STILL convinced that had Bush not gone down two years ago, we would have won the N.C. There's never been a doubt in my mind about that. I'm only curious about how things would have went differently with the program if that had happened.

June 4, 200818 yr While it is hard to disagree UL would have been better with a healthy Bush, their offensive production was still the best in the nation, wasn't it? I do not think the Bush dropoff was as big as some make it seem. He was replaced with a coup of backs, one of which is in the NFL. The Rutgers game was lost because they could not stop the run and Brohm was rattled. UL's 2 toughest games came in back-to-back weeks, it is simply difficult to put together great performances for consecutive weeks.

And that is a legit point. I simply think UL was outcoached and Schiano made the necessary adjustments to win the game. For as good as Bush was/is, what UL had in the backfield was far superior to that of what Rutgers had on the field. They could not block them because of scheme.

Schiano defintely had the gameplan to manipulate the fact that UL couldn't do what they wanted to/were used to doing.
