I think Ricky will have time to throw the ball this year with the o-line protecting him this year. I couldn't agree more, some people are saying this could be the best line in SLHS history. Jeremy Armfield and Mark Clontz were named to the all-district team in 2007. Blake Fields is a monster on defence and he will make more big plays on offence than some might think. Fields was also an all-district performer in 2007.

Bowling is 5-9 at best, great feet, The Lewis kid is 6'0 6'1 and a much better prospect for the next level. Both are very good high school QB's.

I received word that Stanford is taking a good look at Bowling, they are going to follow him this season.

EKU may give him a shot, I like the new coach ALOT more than the previous guy. I think he will recruit Kentucky more, he also seems more approachable.

Fields is being looked at by Auburn and others. I was told he lost 20 lbs and is much quicker. Very strong kid. Made great improvements in his hands during the course of the season, ... I expect him to be one of Bowling's primary targets. Once Fields began to expect the ball, he became a very dangerous receiver and with his strength, he is hard for DBs to bring down by themselves.

Is Bowling better than Cashen, this time last year everyone was saying that Cashen was going to Purdue, Ohio University and others schools 0 offers. Folks wake up and understand that these guys are good high school players not college impact players. I wish that every kid in the mountains could go to D1, not happening. Union and Cumberland College go south(Florida-Georgia) to get athletes to play for them.

Bowling is slightly ahead of cashen when it comes to decision making. Cashen is light years ahead of him in physical skills, size, speed, strength, arm strength. College coaches believe they can teach decision making. Cashen 0 scholarships, just sayin'.

This brings up the argument of "ITS THE SYSTEM". Ricky was blessed with great coaching his first 2 years and still has a coach willing to let him fling it 35-40 times per game. Cashen was much more reigned in by his coaches and offense. The attempts and numbers put up by a Q.B. are not the major evaluator of thier talent and how it would translate to the next level. I think Ricky has maxed out. I find it ironic that I am saying Ricky is a product of the system because when I was younger I would have argued all day about this. Take Woodson for example. He passed 5-10 times per game for a wishbone coach in high school, then breaks records at U.K. in a pro-style offense with a good Q.B. coach. Tim Couch was allowed to fling it around in high school but he had the physical skills, every time I saw him in high school he was the best player on the field. However he was not maxed out because he got better coaching in a better system in college.
