ABC News' Ben Newman reports: Sen. Barack Obama's decision to cut ties with Trinity United Church of Christ was not politically motivated, Obama's communications director Robert Gibbs said this morning.

Although I do not know any of the people who attend Trinity United Methodist Church personally, many of them seem to be the kind of people who applaud and cheer wildly in response to the racist rants of their pastors and guest pastors. (I could be wrong, somebody could be editing the sound tracks of the videos.)

 

 

 

Do you seriously think there are any less racists in most of the churches that the rest of us attend? We all attend churches with racists. If our churches were led by a charismatic who wasn't afraid to lead the chorus of divisive rhetoric, we, too, would likely stand up and applaud in much the same way. Psychologists know that people will behave in a way in group situations that they would never behave if they were alone, especially if they are being led by a charismatic like Wright. It's the cultist mentality. Many of you would behave in the same way as the folks at Trinity under the right conditions.

I have a more favorable opinion of Christians than you seem to have. I believe that most people who attend church on Sundays would be appalled to hear their own pastor launch into the kind of tirades against another race like those we have seen coming from Trinity.

 

If a video surfaces after Obama gets the nomination of Barack Obama cheering on Rev. Wright or Father Pfleger, Democrats can kiss the White House good bye for at least another four years. In this age of camera phones, that prospect has to be on the minds of the super delegates today.

Why ask a question, when my post obviously said no such thing? Most Christian churches are not filled with people who would enthusiastically cheer racist rants delivered from the pulpit. I am not sure that I can make that point any more clearly for you.

I don't know if those who attend chuch are more hate-filled than the general populace. Not necessarily(but maybe). I am just saying that the folks you saw cheering at Obama's former church may not be that unusal. Many of those at our churches might do the same thing under the right conditions.

It sounds like you did not like what you heard at some churches and kept searching. If Obama had taken the same approach, then he would not be in this mess. That is, assuming Obama did not find what he was looking for in the pews of Trinity and sprout roots.

So because Obamas church has been exposed as racist, Obama supporters are now painting EVERY church as racist.....................WOW

 

I have went to church my entire life, mostly Baptist(Southern, Free Will) but have also attended Pentecostal and Methodist on a regular basis and been to a Catholic Church more than once or twice and have never heard a sermon on "keep the black devil down" or anything of that nature.............

I can tell both of you that the church I attend certainly doesn't preach hatred toward ANY group of people. You are both welcome to attend mass with me anytime and judge for yourself.

If the rumors about the video are true, liberals will attack Fox News for airing it instead of Mrs. Obama for starring in it. If the video really exists, it will be interesting to see the timing of its release.

I don't know where you go to church at, but if a priest spilled out racist remarks anywhere here in NKY, 95% of the parishoners would walk out and leave the parish...
