Jim, I knew when I listed Johnson over Scott, you'd nail me. I told myself that beforehand. Just a preference. If it helps, I like Lee Roth over Sammy.

Honestly, I know Mick Jagger isn't the best singer, but his voice is one of the most tolerable of all "classic" bands. All the singers math has listed are good or great, but I could only stand to hear them for a few songs. I can only listen to one AC/DC song a day, doctor's orders. I would probably go with Bono from Rockmoms list over all mentioned. Joe Strummer from Mack's list is also a good one... he doesn't sing the same way for every song, and I have recently actually been listening to The Clash a lot more. London Calling is quickly climbing the Ramboard charts.

 

One of Jagger's best contributions was introducing the masses to Peter Tosh...see freaky Mick's youtube video with Tosh

 

Don't rip my lungs out, Jim. ;) Johnson's voice has just always made my head want to explode, but in a good way. I didn't follow the band's music until much later in life. Johnson just kinda grew on me...much like asparagus has.

Mickey Thomas was famous before Starship. He sang lead for the Elvin Bishop Group on "Fooled Around and Fell In Love" when I was still in high school.

 

 

I was at a Starship show last year.The crowd was clamoring for some Elvin Bishop stuff and Thomas responded with "Fooled Around..." Great tune.
