Jake True will be one of the best FRosh in NKY next season at Highlands.

What position will he play at Highlands? I watched him play last year for the Spartans, and he ran over everybody while at the running back position. However, he was bigger than almost everyone he faced.

That is correct. There are a couple of rules here that may confuse people.

First rule: 8th graders cannot participate in varsity football.

Second rule: that you only have 4 years of eligibility after you graduate from the 8th grade.

Thus if an 8th grader plays frosh football, he still retains 4 years of eligibility to play high school sports after he graduates from the 8th grade.

Good clarification. Whether he plays varsity or not has no bearing on his 4 years of eligibility.

How does that work? Tuition? Is there a cap on tuition students? I'm just curious.....

I just read where Beechwood raised their tuition for out-of-district kids by $300 or 10%. My math skills tell me that tuition now must be approximately $3300.

Yes, they do cap how many they take based on enrollment of in-district kids.

Nick Mills Lineman for Corbin should see plenty of playing time for the Hounds this year.

How big is Nick?

Isn't this the kid who has the younger brother that someone said is projected to be over 6'6 ? If so, this young man may be a lineman or a tight end if he grows in a similar fashion.

He does have either a brother or cousin that is very tall and lanky. He was a lineman on the same Spartans team. He has a lot of filling out to do to play either position at the varsity level, but he has plenty of time to do so.

I think the Foley kid from Corbin will be pretty good I think you will see him start on D before the year is over the Barton kid from Willamsburg is a good one if they don't rush him. Mills from Corbin will see the gridiron alot this season And I belive if Travis Smith had not got hurt he would have been Corbins Q.B.

Jake does have a younger brother, Nick, who is projected to be 6'9 actually but Jake is built different. He doesnt look like he will get much taller than 6'2 or 6'3 but he already has a man's body. I would guess him to be around 6'1 190lb already. His younger brother played line for the Spartans as well and could be molded into a very fine football player or an even better basketball star with that size. They both have great work ethic.

I think Elijah Mayes out of Mercer County has an opportunity to be a very special player. He has size and speed and is an athletic freak for his size. I know as an 8th grader he played O-Line and D-Line and some LB as well. What impressed me the most is the fact that he kicked off for the 8th grade team and would run down the field and make a solo tackle on the returner almost every time. He also was known for onside kicking it and recovering the onside kick after he leveled whomever caught the ball. If he gets a chance to run the ball at the Varsity level he could truly be a force, bu he may be too big to run the ball, but there is no doubt in my mind that he could run the ball and be successful at it. He may not make a large impact immediately, but as time goes on he will be a large part of any success that Mercer County has. IMO.

How big is the Nick Mills kid? I agree, the Foley kid may play early.

Foley most likely will start at one of the linebacker spots for Corbin, and Mills will probably see some time on the offensive line.

Mills is about 6'1 about 230. He benches 300 and squats 400. This kid will be a big help to the unsure redhound line. Him along with Hayden, Taylor, Creech, and if Lewallen can be back to full speed, corbins line will be alot better than expected. But we will find out soon.

How old is this Mills kid?????

Yeah, there's no question that they are built differently. Does Jake project to be a running back and linebacker at Highlands, or do you think he will be moved to the line if he continues to grow?
