And the Lakers have looked even better at home during the playoffs winning by an average of 17 ppg...:lol:

 

What numbers were you looking at to get that average?

 

They beat Denver by 14, and 15 at home. They beat Utah by 11, 10, and 7 at home. And they beat S.A. by 4 and 30 at home. Add all of those up and you get 91. Divide by the total number of home games (7) and you get 13. Am I doing something wrong?

There you go, the records say it all. The Jazz were the best home team in the NBA, but the Spurs are still better than the Lakers @ home. That means the Spurs have a better shot at stealing one in LA right? :lol:

They Lakers haven't won a championship since Shaq left, the Spurs have. So it's obvious to defend the DEFENDING NBA CHAMPS. I have given the Lakers credit as well as giving Kobe creddit. I said from the start it was going to be a good series no matter who won. But it seems that no one remembers that the Spurs won a championship with those same players last year.

 

Both sides state their opinion that their team is better and will win...the other side doesn't like it and takes it as an insult.

 

The Patriots had won multiple championships with their players. That didn't seem to matter to the Giants. The Lakers have playoff experience and championship experience with Kobe and Fisher, not to mention their head coach is the most successful in post-season history. The experience argument is a wash.

A Lakers fan might say that they won 3 out of 4 against two of the best home teams in the NBA this season (70-12 combined), prior to the Spurs series. They'd probably like their chances of stealing one in San Antonio based on their post-season performance.

 

Either view is fair, IMO. Neither is a slight toward the other team, but merely confidence in your own.

I know the Spurs are beatable, I mean their old and banged up, they can't play forever. The experience is a factor I believe. I mean yes it's not a huge factor but I'd rather have someone on my team that has been there before. Yes Kobe and Fisher have been there and Phil too, but hey Phil even said that the biggest thing the Spurs have going for them is experience..

I still think the Lakers have a good shot to take a game in San Antonio. You are right about the Game 7, I don't think they Lakers would be a lock, but I think they would get it done

 

I've seen nothing to convince me that the Spurs will lose at home. Not saying it is impossible, I just think they're too good at home for the Lakers to beat them there.

 

I think the same thing about LA, but if someone was going to do it, it would be San Antonio.

Says the guy who consistently messes up when discussing the Spurs. You shouldn't call other people out for their lack of research when you mess up your own from time to time. I remember you forgetting or completely not knowing a couple of things concerning the Spurs.

 

The Jazz may have had the best home record in the NBA, but that doesn't mean they were playing great at home in the playoffs. The Rockets beat them at home once during their series too. The Spurs have looked darn near unstoppable at home for most of the playoffs winning by an average of 16 ppg.

 

The short rest might hurt the Spurs if there is a game 7. I'm not denying that. I'm just saying I don't think that will be the deciding factor. The Spurs are a championship type team and they should play that way if a game 7 does occur.

 

I do my research before saying anything about the Spurs. The only thing (I can remember) not including was when referring to The Lakers beat down of SA in the regular season finale I didn't mention Manu didn't play.

 

Also as good as the Spurs have looked at home, didn't the Lakers just beat them by 30 (not 20 which you called a beatdown) at L.A. The Lakers have been just as impressive, if not better at home. Both teams have done what CHAMPIONSHIP caliber teams do in the playoffs, and that's defend their homecourt.

 

And if you don't think a short rest will hurt the Spurs, I think you're kidding yourself. The Lakers are a championship caliber team as well and would play that way AT HOME in a game 7 as well.

 

A slim chance? If being in the final four with, only down 2 games to 1 with 4 games to go in the series coming off a 20 point beat down win over LA is slim...:lol:

It's kinda hard to forget the Spurs won a championship with you and HB on here...we all know they're the defending champs. A lot of us just think they aren't the best team in the NBA this year therefor we don't think they'll win the championship. Nothing wrong with that. We have our opinion you have yours.

 

And the Lakers haven't won a championship since Shaq left because they haven't had the personnel. To be honest the Spurs are kind of lucky at this point. The Lakers are playing right now without 2 of their top 7 players in Ariza and Bynum and STILL lead the series. If both were healthy, the Spurs would probably be down 3-0 right now and you can't deny that.

I think those stats go back to one of your comments where you said the Lakers first two round opponents were weak and that SA two road wins were much more impressive than any of L.A's but yet L.A had to beat two teams with better HOME records than S.A's first two round opponents.

To be fair whan assessing game one, I'm not sure falling behind by 20 midway through the third quarter and rallying to win by 4 is dominating.
