I know Coach Barnott has two sons playing at Tates Creek currently, would he be interested in the job? Also there are some former Head Coaches that are in Fayette Co., would they be considered on an interim basis due to the late date of hiring?

Heard tonight that it has been turned down by some already. Frankfort HC told players this week that Dunbar offered him the job and he is considering.

Job was offered to someone last week and turned down. This person that I know of was not Foley.

Surely the athletic director has someone in mind. I can't imagine that they do not have an idea as to who they want. Most programs have a handful of prospects in mind at the onset of the application process. Good luck to them though...I hear it is rough over there.

When are the people of Lexington going to stand up and say lets get the best for our kids? If you have to get a Head Coach and we are talking about a Head Coach not a WR, RB, or LB coach we are talking about a Head Coach, the guy that has to guide your program and you are going to say only look at guys with a science degree or what ever teaching slot, that my friends is a shame because you are not being fare to the kids. I am not saying they wont get a great coach but to limit it to a certain teaching field your chances are not very good. Also head coaches in Fayette Co. have to teach 6 classes, not to many guys are going to leave a job for that.

They could try to offer more money to LCA's coach and sway him over to Dunbar?

Evidently some programs are willing to put up with anything if football is a winning program! Some parents are concerned with character, role-modeling, morals when considering a coach. Dunbar needs a good strict coach that doesn't compromise on principles, personally or professionally.

You need to delete this post. It is, at the very least, an implied personal attack. I don't care what you may have heard but unless you have personal experiences with him then you need to have better sources.

 

He cares about the kids on his football team and about the kids at FHS. I watch him with his daughter and I am impressed by how he treats her, with love and encouragement and I sit by him in Sunday School nearly every Sunday.

 

It is easy to sit behind a keyboard and smear an individual - but you should not do it to this good man.

 

Sheeesh. If/when he leaves, it will be a grave loss to this community.

You might want to set a meeting with Coach Foley. Not sure what Character or morals issues you have heard, but I would bet my LIFE the are lies.
