Iron Man

What this had that Spider-Man didn't was the snappy, funny lines that are ABSOLUTELY essential to Spider-Man in the comics. Spider-Man is chatty while he's fighting, and he's usually funny, in deep contrast to the films.

That bugged me too.

I really don't like Robert Downey, Jr., so I'm not sure if I'll pay to see this or not.

Really? Why not, I think he is a great actor.

Probably because he's always been a slimebag, whether in the movies or real life. My favorite part of U.S. Marshalls was where Tommy Lee Jones empties his Glock into Downey.

That is why he is a great choice to play Tony Stark. He understands the character because he more or less IS the character.

Trust me, he's perfect for this role. He's very funny in this movie...

With you about Downey Jr.!! But I will prbably take my son to see it, if its as good as everyone is saying.

Great movie. I liked the Spiderman and XMen movies, but this one was much better. Robert Downey Jr is fantastic. He plays the cocky Stark perfectly. Also, manages to pull off the softer scenes as well. Can't wait for a sequel. Highly recommended...

I took my oldest son to see it on Saturday and Iron Man fever has swept the household. He has dubbed his little brother "Iron Kid" and together they have defeated a multitude of Transformers, VeggieTales, and last night they took out Thomas the Tank Engine who had apparently become some sort of super villian.

As for the movie for me? I liked X-Men 2, Spidey 2, and (1989)Batman better but this was by far the coolest super hero movie I've ever seen. And Downy is PERFECT as Tony Stark. I mean perfect. Its a shame the Oscars don't care about films people like or else he would deserve an Oscar nod for his role. Anyway this was kind of like the Oceans 11 of super hero movies. It was cool, slick, colorful, and there was tons little things you had to catch (like the theme song of the old cartoon as Rhodes ring tone).

Awesome film. On a scale of 1-10 it was a solid 9 and I really want to see it again.
