Iron Man

I'm not a huge Robert Downey fan, but considering that Tony Stark is pretty much a drunk, can you think of a better actor to cast?

This movie was outstanding! Ranks up there in my top 5 comic movies alongside Spider-Man 1 & 2, Batman Begins, and X2.

One of the reviews I've seen was stated as this:

Downey Jr. doesn't have the best track record and that's why he's so great in this movie. It's an unlikely hero that comes out of the shadows so it's easier for him to play..

I can't believe someone could quickly judge this movie before even having seen it. As HB said one of the best super hero movies of all time.

New Hulk movie is going to rock

The Dark Knight looks great

I think it's great that they got Samuel Jackson to play Nick Fury. The in-joke with that is that in the Ultimate Marvel universe in the comics that the character was modeled after Jackson's look. http://x15.xanga.com/1a8d7b4ad9c30130973161/z95456642.jpg

I heard that they are wanting to do an Avengers movie, and that Jon Favraeu (SP?) wants to direct it.

I give it a 9.5 at least. Like I said, one of the, if not the best superhero movies ever made.

Obviously you don't follow the "Don't judge a book by it's cover" motto.

Or you don't listen to reviews.

Or you don't listen to your fellow BGP'ers.

This movie is great. If you liked Superman Returns, Batman Begins, Spiderman I, II (III was terrible), or any other super hero movie, you should like this one.

Also you get a preview of the new Hulk movie in this as well. Edward Norton is great so I think the Hulk will be great too.

What he said! I loved it!!!

This film had a cast nearly as strong, if not as strong, as Batman Begins did, in my opinion.

I think it's tied with Batman Begins as my favorite superhero movie. With Iron Man having a slight edge, since I grew up more of a Marvel fan than I was a DC fan. Paltrow and the reporter were both smoking. They also set up the "Mandarin" angle, when they said the terrorist who got his face hurt was in the 10 finger gang. It also looks like Rhodes may become"War Machine" after he saw the other armor and said "next time". Stan Lee cracks me up with his cameos in every Marvel movie. My favorite cameo of him had to be the first Hulk movie, when him and Ferrigno (sp) were together.

I think Rhodes will be War Machine as well. At least thats what my friends that were with me said.

Looks absolutely awful in trailers, like a flying Robocop with Robert Downey, of all people in the lead. Would think that casting would be enough to keep people away, but I guess not.

Really? The casting was excellent for this movie. RDJ is perfect for Stark and you can't go wrong Bridges/Howard/Paltrow.

Best superhero movie ever made... which kind of chaps me, because it shows how much better Spider-Man could have been. (Spidey is better source material.)

Spiderman I, and Spiderman II were pretty good. Not on the same level as this movie, but good. Spiderman III was terrible IMO.

The thing with Spiderman is that they have made it into more of a story and Iron Man was more about excitement and action. Spider Man III was flat out horrible at parts, the whole club scene was ridiculous.

As far as I'm concerned, there is Spiderman 1 & Spiderman 2. There is nothing else after that.

I agree. They really screwed up with Spiderman III. Kind of like Rocky V...

Maybe not that bad.

What this had that Spider-Man didn't was the snappy, funny lines that are ABSOLUTELY essential to Spider-Man in the comics. Spider-Man is chatty while he's fighting, and he's usually funny, in deep contrast to the films.
