June 2, 200818 yr Someone is defensive. I simply asked a question. I'm entitled to post in this thread if I want. I just wanted to know what makes this more appealing than real fighting? After thinking about it for a while, there are a lot of things I can not stand about wrestling. I agree with panther15z30, post in here all you want, but you're not going to sway any of us to watch MMA over WWE so why bother giving us pro-wrestling fans more of a hard time? We get crap from people all the time for watching wrestling, honestly, we don't need to hear it again, and you're not presenting anything constructive to the thread. Everyone over 7 years old knows that the action in WWE is staged, we watch it because of the storylines. We tune in each week to see what the new twist in the story will be. Also, wrestling requires skill, whether you think so or not. It takes skill to fall correctly so you don't break your neck, it takes skill to stand in front of 30,000 people and give a convincing speech. Yeah, the punches may be fake and they might even miss sometimes but wrestlers get bumps all the time from this "fake fighting." In fact, Randy Orton broke his collarbone tonight "fake fighting." You see, the difference between MMA and WWE is this. With MMA you watch people fight and the story's over. With WWE you get to know characters, stories and rivalries, etc that happen on a weekly basis.
June 2, 200818 yr As for 'Taker, I think he is just getting some time off. He draws a huge audience on Smackdown and there's no way, IMO, that Smackdown will survive without him...at least not until the draft. I think there's either going to be some twist and Vickie overruled this Friday, or he will come back to Raw when the draft takes place. IDK, but no way is his career over.
June 2, 200818 yr I like Randy Orton a lot, but he's very injury prone, and a collarbone injury is no joke. Those things never seem to heal properly, and it's possible he'll never be the same again.

After thinking about it for a while, there are a lot of things I can not stand about wrestling. Not trying to single you out any, I just get tired of the wrestling is fake comments. I know its fake but to answer your question: I like the WWE because it mixes athletics and entertainment like a movie or tv show. I enjoy the storylines and a lot of these guys have some serious talent and athletic ability which also makes it entertaining. Of course it has its dull moments too and at times looks ridiculous but overall I like the quality of what I watch. As for real fighting, I just can't get into it. It doesn't have a WOW factor to me. I'll watch some UFC occasionaly if the top guys are on but other than that I can't find a fighter that I want to root for or against so to me its kinda boring.
June 3, 200818 yr Author I wonder whats going to come of this thing of Y2J not pulling the trigger so to speak. Ted Dibiase Jr. looks like a future star.
June 3, 200818 yr He did!:ylsuper: Blah, I hate John Cena. I'm so tired of seeing Cena vs. Orton vs. HHH vs. Cena vs. blah blah blah....give us something new. It would have been refreshing to see Hardy win the match and get the push he deserves. In other news...I registered for the million dollar giveaway......fingers crossed.

I registered as well, but I suspect that Mr. McMahon is planning something and that he gives the money away to someone he knows, but thats just my guess.

June 4, 200818 yr Every time the try to push Hardy he screws it up, personal life junk.. Agreed, but he is on his 3rd strike, if he screws up again he is done. I think they need to give HBK one more push as champ before he retires.

I'm sorry but I just don't see Hardy as main event talent. I have never been able to grasp why they've been giving him the push he so deserves. He needs to be pushed just like Rey Mysterio needs a push....off the roster. I am a fan of Hardy's but not Myserio's. I think Hardy is a good talent but he can't do anything with the mic so thats why I couldn't give him yet another push if I was with the WWE. His Swanton Bomb is awesome to see in the ring but, now-a-days, if you can't handle the stick with the best of them, you're not going to last very long. (On a side note.....you should see Matt Sydal's Shooting Star Press.....I think it's even more impressive than Hardy's Swanton Bomb.) There are more people on that roster that need pushes before him. I think Carlito is getting all the crap jobs for no reason....he needs to be pushed more. Shelton Benjamin needs more of a push and so does Katie Lea. Katie is, in my mind, the best female wrestler in the organization. You should YouTube her ladder match with Beth Poenix when they were both in OVW....it's quite possibly one of the 2 0r 3 best ladder matches of all time and that includes the mens ladder matches as well. Like I said about Hardy, this is my opinion about it but I'm not going to say that you're not wrong. IF he can handle himself with the mic better, THEN I would or could see him getting over more, but until then, I just don't see it.

I would love to see Carlito to get a push, but you say Matt Hardy can't handle the stick, Id rather watch paint dry than Benjamin with the stick.
