Why don't you let us in on some of the names you've heard, and then we can speculate a little better. I'll throw Steve Skaggs name out there as a possibility.

I'll throw out some names I have heard Skaggs, Hunt, Walter, Horne, Morris, Bryan It might be better if parents parent and coaches coach so we can eliminate some of these.

If Morris is half the basketball coach that he is in football, then Kidwell is in great shape.

There are several parents that coach their own...from the Marv Meredith League to the Russell / Flatwoods Baseball Little Leagues in Flatwoods. Every parent wants their own to shine but from my understanding Steve Skaggs is a standup kind of guy.

 

The best thing Merle can do is to put his foot down on the Marv Meredith League...this is where it all starts!

Here's my take. My bet is that there are some other parents who are not being asked to come back to the bench as well. I'm just an outsider looking in, but as the rumor mill turns, I tend to think that there are a few former coaches who are parents who seem to be peeved that they are no longer in the fold. Sounds like there are bunches of sour grapes roaming around Red Devil lane.

 

I wish Mr. Kidwell the best of luck. It's the issues around the old neighborhood that will be the most difficult to deal with. The X's and O's are the easy part. Good luck and keep your head on a swivel.

If I am not mistaken Coach Morris has been an asst. hoops coach since the Sparks Era.

I don't think that this (Kidwell named head coach at Russell) is really a suprise to anyone.

 

As for the "Gilligan" references, I guess that the "crew" involved are hoping that it's not just a "three hour tour" or seasons of failed attempts to get off the island and destined for seasons of reruns of the same.

I have no idea or first hand knowledge of anyone but I would say that S. Scaggs is a one pretty good guess and if not on the bench, certainly in practice.
