April 25, 200818 yr I quit taking my little cheap boat out about 3 years ago. I know, big sacrifice. Anyway, I wasn't going to pay over $2 a gallon, and my protest was to cut back by not boating. Now I still have the boat, refuse to sell it on principle, and have gas prices twice wat they were when I started my little protest. I probably should sell it, but honestly it is the only "hobby" that I claim right now, other than work, watching my kid play sports etc. I'm determined to get it back on the water.
April 25, 200818 yr Folks are charging their gas and food which is going to bite them in the long run when they max out their cards and still have to get to work and have to fill the pantry. Gotta cut back on small things to keep the fuel in the tank. Eating out is one of them I have cut out. Pack lunch for work saves a ton. I have been saying the samething for the last two years...Bankrupt...:creepy:
April 26, 200818 yr Splurged a little on gas today by going to Burkesville of all places today. Made the 2+ hour drive down there to play golf today. Now I'm not going anywhere but work and home for a few weeks...
April 26, 200818 yr So that is all recoverable oil? How many barrels does the world use in a year? They say the Saudi's could power the world alone for the next 25 years. And they have never been straight shooters about their total supply... which can't really blame them they want to keep everyone guessing. Iraq is rumored to have very similair oil numbers.. hence the reason a lot of people say we went there and are still there. We need someone to directly compete with the Saudi's.. why not a country that we reconstructed. Peak oil is just like GWB's terror scares... it causes everyone to worry over something that is not imminent. We will see another terror attack before peak oil, because nobody on this website will live to see peak oil.
