April 19, 200818 yr Placed a $5 bet on Behindatthebar to win the Lexington Stakes today at the Off Track. They said he paid $13.60 to win, so how much can I expect to receive when I go to pick up my winnings on Monday? Thanks for any help
April 19, 200818 yr If I'm not mistaken, the $13.60 would be your payout on a $2 bet. If that is right, you should win $34.00.

April 20, 200818 yr Author minus your initial bet correct? So the net in this case would be 29.00? If that is true that is where I get lost. It always seems like I should get more when I pick up my winnings. Is this true about subtracting your initial bet? Whenever I place bets for people at the off track and they win and tell them how much they won, they always feel like I am short changing them.

I've cahsed tickets with very short odds before and I can remember getting just 2.40 or less back. I think the lowest price is 2.10 on even money odds.
