A Hamas problem for Obama?

Featured Replies

:thumb: Obama has enjoyed an easy ride from the media on his way to the Democratic nomination. On the few occasions that he has faced tough questions from the media, he has been quick to play the victim .card instead of responding to legitimate questions forthrightly.

Hamas is not the only terrorist organization that is hoping for change that will bring an inexperienced liberal like Senator Barack Hussein Obama to the White House.

Hamas operated freely inside the United States under George Bush's regime until shortly after 9/11. Terrorist organizations posed as "charities" making money off of the U.S. government and sending it overseas in support of Hamas.

This only stopped after 9/11 because the most devastating terrorist attack on U.S. soil ever occurred. Our government basically ignored these "charities" for a very long time.

So maybe terrorist organizations are hoping someone will win the Presidential nomination and act like Bush and his regime did pre-9/11.

If so, then Hamas and FARC will be very pleasantly surprised with an Obama presidency.

BTW, I believe that it was our last Democratic president who pardoned convicted terrorists, was it not? It is indeed interesting that you make reference to the seven months of the pre-9/11 Bush presidency while totally ignoring the eight-year reign of his terrorist-friendly predecessor.

However, I would expect that Obama's administration will be much more sympathetic to organizations like Hamas and FARC than either Bush or Clinton. This expectation on the part of terrorists will be a big hurdle for Obama to overcome in the general election.

I don't think Clinton or Bush deserve all or even most of the blame for what happened in this country pre-9/11. The way our federal agencies operated and investigated terrorism was ridiculous.

Seriously, it's not like he solicited and endorsement...and frankly, it's not an endorsement! It's simply the answer of Hamas when asked what they thought of the candidates.

The more I analyze, the more I'm leaning toward Obama.

I hope you had milk with your big bowl of talking points.

You have got to be kidding!!!

Absolutely no one, no one, has had an easier ride than John McCain. The media tries to get Obama on guilt by association or guilt by someone mentioning his name but refuses to point out McCain's continual gaffes about Al Qaeda in Iran (which doesn't exist), his idiotic economic policy, his running as supporting the new GI bill when he voted against it. I could go on.

Obama has had the hardest ride from the media, especially Pravda....I mean Feaux News.

An agency did not pardon 16 convicted FALN terrorists. Democratic President Bill Clinton did. I would expect more of the same from Democratic President Barack Obama. Apparently, so do many terrorists.

And President Bush and his administration ignored the fact that al-Qaeda as well as Hamas had people working freely inside the United States of America pre-9/11 and shortly after 9/11. People tried to warn the U.S. government numerous times that there were organizations like the Holy Land Foundation, SAAR, and the Islamic Committee for Palestine (ICP) working inside the United states as arms for Hamas and al-Qaeda. There were (might still be) Muslim preachers who spewed hate speeches about the U.S. getting what they deserved.

Actually, one of the preachers who was heard saying that the U.S. will get what they deserve, was a man seen on a stage with George W. Bush after 9/11.

I'll find his name later if you want.

BTW a federal agency (the FBI) did ignore or just blow off attempts by people to get rid of certain terrorists. The University of South Florida had a man working for them named Sami al-Arian (I believe that was his name) who later became a top guy for the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ). They tried to get rid of him when hey found out he might be connected and they asked the FBI for help. The FBI refused. Numerous times has the FBI done so. That was my point when talking about federal agencies screwing up.

The media favors the most liberal candidates. Obama has been treated with kid gloves because he is the most liberal of the Democratic candidates. McCain was the most liberal Republican candidate with a chance to win, so he also has received favorable treatment. Who do you expect the liberal mainstream media to favor after the conventions? Moderate Republican John McCain or super liberal Barack Obama?

Eagle are you part of McCain's press entourage? If not, then do you know someone inside of the McCain organization? My guess is no to both of these, so the only way you even know of these repeated gaffes is through the press. If these things were not reported then neither you nor I would know about them. I have heard each of those items reported, even on FOX news.

McCain went through 6 months of bashing by "Conservative media" (his side). Now that it is inevitable that he is the candidate some of the talking heads (Rush and Sean) have eased up on him a bit but even they still take some shots.

Oh and this same man, Sami al-Arian, posed for a picture with George W. Bush and his wife Laura in early 2000. They discussed politics as well. Bush later mentioned something in a debate with Al Gore that thrilled al-Arian so much that he began registering local Muslims for the Republican party and he began praising Bush at local mosques.

This is according to a Newsweek magazine.

Don't put yourself to any trouble on my account. My point is that Bush was in office for 7 months prior to the 9/11 attacks. I am sure that he would like to have a do-over of those seven months, as I am sure that Bill Clinton would like to change the approach to terrorism that his administration pursued for eight years.

However, we now live in a post-9/11 world, except Obama seems to be stuck with a pre-9/11 world view. That is what makes him so appealing to terrorist organizations like Hamas.
