As far as the Johnson kid (Cumberland High) goes what does LMU stand for?

I would assume it is Lincoln Memorial Uiversity in Tenn....just across the tunnel from Middlesboro Ky.

How did Corey Sorrell (Holy Cross Covington) play dring the tryout?

Sorrel was said to be the most craftiest and fundamental player there. He was on for most of the tryouts and was hitting his shots. Yes, he had a good showing.

I watched a couple of his games this year and was very impressed with him. Northern Kentucky University is getting a good ball player.

That is correct! :thumb:

I heard they are going to announce the team on Wed, sure would like to see Brumback, Johnson, or Day make that team.

Of the three, my money would be on Johnson. From what I heard he was pretty impressive.

Hard to believe Johnson got no votes for all state. Who votes for all state?

If Johnson doesn't make the all-star team it will probably be because of the same reasons he didn't make the all-state team. It is all about who you know, and how many points you score. I guess the voters for the all-state team didn't take into account that Johnson averaged almost 14 rebounds a game (that information came from the coach).

I'll take 15 points and 14 rebounds a game, EVERY game!!!

Let me say, however, this is not a shot to any player that made that all-state team. I'm sure they're all deserving.

It truly is proof that politics control the votings. Johnson did make the team. It all comes down to getting scholarship offers for the next level. You have several players on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd team Allstate that yet to find a suitor for college hoops. In the end, I hope all do so they can enjoy that free education.

I think being in Cumberland make sit harder to be seen. I do think the new Harlan Co. high school will hopefully travel a lot and get players seen more often.

Team was announced today. Check out wkyt.com for details.
