April 18, 200818 yr Does anyone follow Boxing? I don't, but I was reading an article about this guy. He has been the undefeated Super Middleweight champion for 10 years? :creepy: Seems like an incredible accomplishment to me. Is there some reason this guy has never been beat? Does he fight no one, or is he that good?
April 18, 200818 yr I saw him fight once, I believe his opponent was Manfredo, and he did a number on him. He's a legend in England, I don't believe he's fought many high profile bouts but I think that may be changing. I can't wait to get my HBO back so I can watch more fights.
April 18, 200818 yr He hasn't really fought top ranked opponents for a long time. He fought Mikkel Kessler and Peter Manfredo, but thus far I think those are his biggest fights. He has a fight coming up with Bernard Hopkins that should be a dandy.
April 18, 200818 yr Lacy, Kessler and Manfredo are definitely his biggest fights...but he dominated those fights. Calzaghe is a great boxer and very entertaining to watch...I'd like to watch his fight tomorrow, but I don't have HBO anymore...and I'd rather watch the UFC PPV. Admittedly, I don't follow boxing much at all, but Calzaghe is probably my second favorite behind Kelly Pavlik.

April 20, 200818 yr Hate him or not Hopkins really did the most damage in the fight in my opinion. And he still lost. Not enough activity IMO. His fights are ugly and a struggle to watch at best. He just got outworked.

I won't deny he got outworked, but his style has always been hard to score. He doesn't have a high output but seems to land effective shots. Was Calzaghe's three and four punch outburts that didn't seem to be w/ much force more damaging than a single Hopkins punch that landed square? I'm not so sure.
April 21, 200818 yr Hate him or not Hopkins really did the most damage in the fight in my opinion. Hopkins did most of his damage hugging Calzaghe. Calzaghe pressed the fight while Hopkins just threw one punch and clinched. Calzaghe deserved this win.
