Pendleton County 6 Highlands 4

Pitching! Pitching! Pitching! Gotta have it to win games! You can't be leading 4 -2 in the bottom on the 6th, load the bases, and walk in 3 runs. O'Brien 2-4, Head 2B, Muench 3-4, 2 2B's, 2 RBI's. Highlands against St. Henry tomorrow at Highlands.

Wow, big win for the young Wildcats.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek:

Freshman Joe Mains pitched 5 strong innings in his first ever varsity start for the Wildcats. With PC trailing 4-2 in the bottom of the sixth, Junior Patrick Johnson tied the game with a 2 RBI single. He later came around to score on a walk with the bases loaded. This was the Wildcats second win over a solid NKY school in less than a week, and they are showing signs of turning things around. They play at Deming Thursday.

Way to go Pat... can't wait to watch him play this summer for The Kings.

You know what, you're right. But it takes making the routine plays to win games too. It gets old seeing the same players making some of those plays over and over and nothing changing. Oh well, chalk it up to Pendelton Cty. wanting it more and to the fact that some of the HHS players worrying about whether a kid got a hit or if it was an error instead of figuring a way out of how to put a team away.:mad:

Just a correction,the pitcher walked in two runs not three.:thumb:

I hear Alex Valentine, freshmen, homered for the Wildcats. Way to go Alex.

It is always nice to send a NKY team back up 27 with their tails between their legs.

It is extra nice when it is Highlands.:dancingpa

Highlands problem yesterday imo was hitting.They probably didn't hit 3 balls that were hard hits.

Highlands seems to be very inconsistent this season with their hitting and now the pitching goes south late in the game, wow. Congrats to the PC Wildcats.

Don't recall any incindiary remarks made toward Pendleton after the Birds beat them 4-1 in the opener.

Don't need them when there have been many made over the past years in many different sports.

Same as beating a Campbell, a Brossart, etc.

Has there been a Mains at PC for the past 30 yrs. consecutively? (lol). Great athletic family!

There's been so many that they named a street after them in the center of Falmouth!
