8 teens charged with beating up 16yr old girl, trying to put it on youtube: Updated!

Featured Replies

Yeah the previous version was taking down because it violated the rules of talking about any criminal activity involving minors but last night I seen on CNN where all teens involved are being tried as adults and have a lot of charges against them. I asked the mods if it was ok to post now since they are being charged as adults and they okayed it.

So what is your take on it? Is the parents to blame in a way? Is the grandmother to blame (happened at her house while she was home). One of the parents even said it wasn't her kid involved even though it clearly showed her in the video. Talk about denial.

My apologies to HB. :thumb:

My thoughts are simple, they deserve to be in jail for a long, long time.

It makes me sick....About 2 am, I was filpping through channels and caught the tail end of this...It was said that Dr. Phil bailed out one of the girls? He is sick as well? If he wants to spend money, he can bring it this way and not on someone who is so evil as to beat up other people.

^ Technically it wasn't Dr. Phil it was one of his associate producers of the show. But they said he is probably behind it as well.

I heard that all teens involved could face life in prison.

Why would anyone want to get any of these girls out of jail anyway? I hope they face prison...what they did was horrible.

So he can counsel her on his show and get ratings.

I watched that video, and that poor girl. I was in tears just watching how helpless she was and how mean those girls were to her. Who in their right mind would think that was ok, and what parent would take up for their children who beat other people up for NO good reason,

I too saw the video on the news, and felt very sorry for the girl. That type of stuff just horrifies me, because you think, what if that were my child? Sad - really really sad.

I hope they get punished to the full extent of the law. They should set an example with them... All of this got started from what I can understand was from a post on MySpace. I have felt all along that MySpace if misused and usually is, causes nothing but drama/trouble for teens. I don't like the MySpace thing at all.

I've seen it many times...sad so sad. I wish I could fast forward 25 years or so and let these teens be married adults with kids of their own and let them see this film and comment.

Wow. It was horrible and there were probably many crimes, but life in prison for 16 year olds who beat a girl up is a lot.

So I was right all along in posting that thread? Ha. It feels good to be right. :D

No, you were wrong. But the siutuation has changed. Now, you would be okay. It's always best to check first, like SvFan4life did, if you're not sure. :thumb:

I apologized, so I can't do anymore, SHEESH!

I wasn't aware of that rule at the time, so I was sure.

And I was joking about being right. Don't know how you missed that.

Also, I believe at the time I posted the article, they were talking about trying the girls as adults. So at least I had that going.

I think it was just more then beating her up.

Lured, held against her will, beat really bad, has lost vision or partial vision, will have to be home schooled due to the injuries suffered physically and mentally.

They beat her at the door, beat down on the sofa...

People do real time for assualt all the time.
