10th Region

Harrison beat Clark Co. tuesday 5-1. Giving up the only run in the bottom of the 7th inning. Brandon Martin pitched a 1 hitter. :thumb:

Not that it's too big of a deal, but the Winchester Sun said Clark Co got 2 hits. But they have been wrong before! Said Patrick Bailey & Logan McQuerry had hits. The Cards are a young team, but they need to pick it up on the defensive end. You can't make 4 errors in a game especially against Harrison Co.

Don't get me wrong Clark has a good program, but they graduated a lot of pitching and a lot of their hitting from last year. Seeing them play over the summer, and i know that Bennet and their catcher didn't play but i saw them get beat pretty handely.

To say Scott would get blown out of the water is far from the truth. Are they up there with Harrison and Clark, well no, but to say they can't compete, well thats just ignorant. I guess we will find out next monday when Harrison comes up to Scott. The region this year is 5 or 6 deep and anyone of Harrison, Clark, Brossart, Campbell, Scott, or Montgomery could win the region. Harrison is the favorite, but their isn't a big drop.

The key here is that it doesn't matter who picks up these meaningless wins in April and early May. What matters is who is playing the best ball in late May and into June. Anybody can beat Harrison or Clark on any given day. Both Harrison and Clark are very young teams. Harrison has only 3 Seniors on the team.

It has to matter a little bit. In our district I would much rather play Paris than Clark County in the first round, and i'm sure its that way in a lot of the other districts. I understand that it definately matters how you play in late May and June, but it definately matters winning games, especially district, right now.

I agree that District seeding is key, but you also need to learn about your team. You don't have to sacrafice the season to learn what your team is made of. that is why the games in April are not all that important. You have all of May, which is usually your 2nd game against your district, to make the ground up.

Same with Montgomery.

That is not the true Clark team that is playing now. Bunch of different and new faces.

Harrison county is the number one team in the 10th. I think Scott is the 2nd best team in the region, but not near as good as Harrison county.

I woudl put GRC at 2nd. Does Scott play Harrison Co...if so when?

Scott and GRC could be the game of the year in the 10th region. The teams are very similar and about equal in talent.

I believe next monday at Scott.
